Hello all, I've been researching c.r for some time now and have gotten some great advice.I'm scheduled to go to Conle,Ga Feb.24. My concern is the security interview. Many have posted not to give out unnecessary information about certain topics that can result in me getting sent home. I have nothing to hide. I do have a criminal background and listed all convictions on my application,no felonies just bs like disorderly conduct during my college years. My recruiter said she reviewed everything and I'm good to go.I have a FBI background check rapsheet from a past employer that shows every arrest guilty or not. Most charges were dropped. I've heard the security interviewer is ex FBI and strict. My question is would giving c.r all arrest info when i arrive for orientation a dummy move or is being honest ok in this situation. Again all convictions were reported .

Telling the truth is the right thing to do in this industry, If you don't tell and then you are found to have lied then you are sent away anyways, I'm not sure about this specific company but Honesty is the Best policy! Good Luck, I hope you grew up since your college days because this work can be the toughest on the boys with their big boy britches pulled all the way up. Good luck.

The people that have told horror stories , well in a nice way to put it maybe they had things to hide ya know , my recruiter ask me if I ever did drugs , and I laughed and said . Yea I was toung at one time just like everyone else , but I said I realized it will get me nowhere in life and haven't touched it since .
She said o.k. that's fine , thanks for being honest..

So don't be to affraid .
The people they are weeding out is people with long rapsheets in their past .

Don't believe everything a recruiter has to say, they get paid to fill seats and you are not hired till they do all the background checks and say you are hired.

I would say if it shows up, you better report it, if it showed up on the FBI sheet it more than likely will show up on anything they do. How many years has it been since the last convictions?

Navigatorwife my last charge was in 2005 for disorderly conduct which was reported and thanks for the response. Tangerinegt i thought i read that during orientation prospective students meet with a security interviewer i may be wrong. Also congratulations on your success i've been following your journey.

Some companies at orientation will have an interview with you about your application, this is after it has been run through the background mill check. This is where they catch you if you left anything off. In the case of my husband he had a nonpreventable deer hit that he did not put down because it was well over 3yrs. They just asked him about and didn't say you're not hired. But I would imagine if it would be something serious, that would be a different story.

This person may be called different names at companies, it could be someone from HR dept or someone they have hired to just do this type work.

One thing you could go ahead and do while you are waiting is go ahead and apply for a passport. You will need a birth certificate with the seal on it. They will mail it back under separate cover several weeks later.

The TWIC is the one that will really pull up your background.
