Certainly seems like things have gone from "nothing is changing for drivers" to everything is changing. And fast. Lets see ... no more quarterly safety meetings. Whole new macro system. New decals and permits. L/O trucks can now be governed at 68. Company at 64. New fuel pricing for L/Os. Contract addendems for L/Os. Not sure what else will be changing, but I'm sure there are more changes coming.

Oh well. Just roll with it I guess, and hope my next load is to someplace warm.

I was told by a shop manager that there is no idle policy with swift. So idle all you want. Also. If you needed an inverter installed. You're SOL after feb 1st. Unless you talk someone at the central terminal to do it. Because technically swifts policy is no inverter without a cpap machine.

As as far as the governed speeds go. It says right in the swift manual that company is 62. Lease ops are 68. Unless you train. Then it's 65.

Swift has a idle policy. I don't remember what it was I never got annoyed by anyone with it but I was and still am good about not idling unless I need to.

I didn't see anything in the driver manual about it. But I just took a quick look thru. So I probably overlooked it. I was mainly going by what the shop manager said. I'll take a more thorough look thru the manual this weekend though. Curious to see the difference in some policies.

Swifts idle policy runs by a percentage vs miles driven - they're not anal like knight is who GOD FORBID, IN 100 degree weather expect you to roast like a popcorn kernal in your truck

    tangerineGT Thanks this.

Swift is pretty easy going on idle time your dm does take weather into consideration

    tangerineGT Thanks this.
