Having been through about a half dozen "mergers" - sometime as the buyer, sometimes as the buyee - change is going to happen.

Some change is not going to have net impact. Things will just be different, neither good or bad.

Same change is going to cost. Either in compensation or perks. You not going to get something you used to have.

Some change is going to be good. You're going to get something you didn't have before. Sounds like the idle policy may fall into this. Also followed up a rumor that I got yesterday. For the Central O/Os, it looks like Swift may be looking to open up the broker program to reefer freight.

Well let the games begin , last night was terrible , fuel car denied , couldn't scale , snow and wind , and I waited on hold to ask someone a question for almost a hr . Then they said oh I have to transffer u to someone else ... hahahahahah
I said go right ahead , but this things parked and aint moving .lol
It was so easy before to run through a scale , now ya gotta send in for a advance on ur comdata card , but ya can't swipe it to pay for the weight ticket oh no ya gotta get money out of a atm witch only spits out 20's and cost 3.95 really ?
    F that...... F their contract . Lol
Then I find out today I was not the only one who was ignored lastnight by everyone in the office .
I told them today this load is not going to be on time now ,because I wasted hrs of my drive time last night trying to get a hold of someone to fix the issues.... oh well. I am done ranting now ... lmfao

What I did as company driver was just pay for the scales out of my pocket and scan them in for reimbursement. It was easier. No advances etc. As a owner op you scale pay and file them. Swift doesn't reimburse us supposedly they will if you have to t call loads over 35 k and a few others I don't worry about them tho. I just write it off

Also the waiting game on the phone. That is a whole story all on its own. Greer terminal gets all pissy when you call instead of sending messages. So one time I dropped a trailer at a Walmart and had a load that required a v3 trailer no plywood sides well there was only 2 ms carrier trailers and I had only a hour to go 30 miles for pickup so I send a message like the special Olympics ect team wanted and I sat for a hour and a half waiting for a reply message and because they won't answer the phone unless it's a emergency and then sent a macro 22 for running late reason being waiting on instructions on what to do from ect in greer. It's nice to throw that cap in their face once in a while. That's the reason I love the brokers. It phone calls. The day that changes is the day it sucks again lol. You will get use to swift ways.

Yea see my load was just shy of 43 . I put the truck on went in card don't work , well I seen a ticket there it said the one axle was something like 37, 5 on drives and I went back out and was like no can't be right looked at my airbag guage cause I am normally good with it .. well long story short I should have just left cause I was right it was almost perfect 32, 2 drives and 32, 1 I think it was on tandems , so the worst part I didn't even need the dam thing ...lol
They don't understand there are just times that it is better to hear what a persons explanation is of the issue u r having. ya know what I mean ?

Idk I mean I know its differant and that's why , but there are like all kinds of extra things ya have to do now , when ya get there when ya leave , in route . Craziness! !!!!

This scale thing is going to irk the hell out of me. Figure an average of 3 loads per week, $30 for scales. So I have to either go thru some convoluted cash advance to card, then use ATM at $4 a pop to pay for the scale or pay out of pocket and wait 1-2 weeks to get reimbursed. So I'm basically loaning the company $30 every week. Can I charge interest? Can I charge a transaction fee? It just feels very lopsided.

On a side note ... never accidentally leave a Snickers bar in a plastic bag anywhere near the bunk heater.

Keep in mind your office staff is going through change also and have to figure out how to make things work ... This impacts me too ... I have a very, very good DM, who is currently not available to me as she is in SLC training Central.

Like mysticJZ. Said I have a awesome dm she lefts me alone and let's me run the way I need to run but when the need a rises she is quick to get things done. It the weekend and after hour people is what makes it fun. Once the dust settles I think it will go smooth for you guys. And the scales tickets for swift anyways is as long as they are scan in by midnight Wednesday Phoenix time they will be on that check.
