So I'll start and share everything I've seen personally with Swift taking over. First, asking a question is a sure way of being transferred to someone else. Who also doesn't have the answer. Second, the statement that nothing was going to change was a lie. Third, miles have decreased, so have loads. Was given the reason being tax season coming up. Nobody wants freight or they will be forced to pay taxes on it. But April isn't tax season for companies just individuals. Most companies run their tax year from Oct thur Sept. Forth, the speed policy. I now to be more focused on my speed then the road or what's going on around me. Fifth, we are now a number and the personal treatment we use to receive is gone. Before swift took over I was advise this was going to happen. I felt I've always been treated like a number. But boy was I wrong. Sixth, windows 98 is a more updated program you could use then the one swift currently runs. Was given the response "we don't understand why a lot of people are having problems?" Answer; your program was made to work on the apple 1. Seventh, we are all screwed in our contracts. You are stuck until your contract is up. I feel that swift has taken a great company and turned it into a terrorist organization. Where you will do what they say or feel the wrath of no miles/being suspended/ or worse; terminated with false items put on your report where you could find work elsewhere in the field. Thoughts?????

Wow, a full day with no responses.

From the other Central posts it seems like the transition is not really going that badly.
Things to get used to, things that are done a bit differently, things that both sides need to work on.
But from what I've read, nothing is really that bad.

Sometimes our own attitude determines the outcome.

It was hell at first I will admit , and I really contemplated leaving . I stuck it out and then my DM left :( , so I got on a dedicated fleet and thats where the miles are . It seems that all the other drivers get left overs that we cant cover.
Never before have I ever had 3 loads in the system at a time . I think my PTA is set out to like the 27th or so.

I am of the same feelings as you are. I used to train students and when "NOT SO" swift took over and screwed up the program, I stopped training. I had a student on my truck and was told that I had to sign a 'paper' that said I screwed up after spinning my wheels on snowcovered ice while driving bobtail. All i did was let out the clutch, applied the fuel pedal and let off to allow the wheels to catch. It was classified as 'hard braking' since I reduced my speed from 15MPH to 5MPH within 5 seconds. I refused to sign and went home, put the student on the bus and started unloading my truck. They took the warning off, I reloaded the truck and started driving again. then I got another warning for doing 69 MPH for 15 seconds - my truck is regulated at 68. I refused to sign and they took that one off. Then they changed that one into 70MPH for 15 seconds and told me that I would get no more loads and they would shut off my comdata card if I refused. Since I was 2500 miles from home I signed. Then recently I have another for over 72 MPH, I signed.
So I have NO tickets, NO CSA points and NO crashes and I have 8 "swift points" to my name. If I didn't have a lease, I would be gone.

The good news is that the former CEO of Central (John) and Nick Burbidge from the lease department are starting up a new company. They want drivers with experience and no tickets, accidents or CSA points. They start the company up next week and I am waiting for a call back when they get it off the ground. New trucks and trailers and pretty much the same setup that Central had. I liked Central, I can't stand Not-So (swift).
