So got a question , is everyone still getting these messages about this over speed thing ?
I just got one that said we can't go over governed speed at all , when that video we all watched made it look like there was a little lead way .
any thing over 66 I think was a violation .
Idk about anyone else , but I have one of the automatics , and when the cruise is on it starts slowing the truck down at 65 which is what I have been doing , starts going up I hit the binders ...
I foresee trucks needing brakes here soon if this is the case .
I mean it is what it is , but 1 mph over and we get points for it .
my gauge don't even show 62 on it so how am I to know if its 62 or 63
And yea thats right , my truck is automatic , not proud of that either . Lol

My dm gave me the rundown over the phone.
65 is excessive. Probably get a warning and have to watch another vid (at a terminal).
68, you have a face-to-face meeting with someone and get put on probation.
If you violate again your gone.
I ended up just doing 55-60 after that call.
If you can imagine yourself as a prisoner and follow the rules, the guards will likely leave you alone.
Remember, you get paroled 366 days after you became an inmate. Er, I mean employee.
I got a local gig now. Don't have to worry about them anymore. New job is harder. Not sure about it yet.
The truck I drive now is unrestricted but I always have and always will stay within the posted speed limit.
I miss my old truck tho. It was my home for a year. Don't miss the crap and being away from family. -
I can't remember the exact numbers but I thought it started at 67 then 70 was excessive or something. I've hit 66 a couple times going down a normal hill. And that's what the safety guy said to me was looks like they'll be spending more on brakes.
tangerineGT Thanks this. -
Oh 65 is excessive , that may explain it then .
with the cruise set at 60 it goes to 65 before the engine brake puts a slowing to it , so I have been between 60 and 65 .
I know its there policy , but good god , the people that sit in the office need to come out get there license and have to drive for a month , then go back to the office and look at those policies again , and I bet a few would either change or go away .
But hell it all looks good on paper. Right ? -
Yea see i was kinda close with that # , I start grabin brakes at 65 , but if you ride the brakes the whole way down a hill , wasnt that one of the things we wer tought not to do. -
Wow, at TMC 75 gets a phone call and 80 gets a face to face meeting. I cant imagine not going over 65 down a hill.
-
I got passed by a metro one day no lie , almost drove the truck right off the next cliff..... -
Solution: go overspeed over and over and get terminated. They might be doing you a favor. Seriously, screw this crap.
Dna Mach, Raiderfanatic, semi retired semi driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
