This same guy, wicked luis, came on CFI drivers website, and made the same claims. I suspect there is a lot more to this than he says.
I drive out of the Taylor terminal in Michigan, also on the Canada dedicated fleet. In any given week I can be home at least once thru the week, and can count on at least part of Friday, all day Saturday, and half of Sunday to be at home. I also accumulate my hilight days for when I want a little extra time off.
When i was 48 state OTR, they ALWAYS got me home when I highlighted.
In my opinion, this guy is just trying to cause problems, thru which were probably caused by his own ineptness.
If you want to stay close to home, maybe, just maybe, this type of job isn't for you, or I also suspect no job would satisfy you.
So instead of flapping your lips, tell the WHOLE story!!

Dont say anything if you dont know anything

How would you Know I came On the Cfi website and said something? You dont know me or Know what that company did to me , so dont talk if you dont know what your talking about .If you say say you are dedicated then you are one of the few if your even telling the truth.Cfi Is a terrible company with bad benefits, and real bad fleet managers.I drove otr for other companies and they were alot better with benefits and getting home on time.Cfi does not care about their drivers or their families. They would not insure my stepdaughter, Or my common law wife, And even my insurance was terrible. So zip you old fool.! so there Is some more to the story. Want more, Ignorant fool.

Husband used to work for CFI

He quit. They keep you sitting and waiting for long periods of time for a run. One day home for every week you're out. Insurance the first year sucks and is maxed out at $10,000, so don't have any major problems! They discriminate and fire solo drivers when teams have the same "incidents" and are kept. Some of the FM's are lousy! Miles are not at all consistant. They report any little incident you have on private property on your DAC report. Pay is not that great. Alot of smaller companies around here have alot better benefits, get you home alot and you're not just one of the 2,500 numbers in the computer to them. Not the worst, but definately not the best!

How would I know? It's there for all the world see. As for calling me an old fool, there is no cause for that. I suspect there's more to your rant than YOU are telling. YOU only represent one side. As far as the truth, I'm only relating my own experience with CFI. Maybe I'm one of the chosen few, I don't know, and could care even less. I do my job, get along fairly well with other drivers, and don't let a little crap bother me, except for name calling, when it's not called for.As for not covering your "common law" wife or your stepdaughter, would that be your common law wife's daughter? I've been around a while in other industry, and those companies wouldn't have covered either one also.
I'm wondering to myself why I'm either bothering to use my time to respond to any of this. YOU obviously, to myself, at least, have a problem with CFI. Thats alright, you're not alone I'm sure. But maybe the whole story should be put out, instead of the parts that make you look like a victim. To be sure, CFI has drivers I wouldn't hire, but how about the company you're with now.
As far as proof. How can YOU prove what you're saying is actually true?
I can agree that the insurance could be better, and is after you've been there for about a year. Why would a non-union company not have a two tiered benefit? In this industry, it's not that unusual to have job hoppers. It seems logical in that light, to me at least, that why should someone just coming in get all the perks that a multi year employe get. He /she hasn't proven that they will stay, or even capable of consistently performing to the standards of that company.
Again, I'll still say, there's more to the story.

I did not know that any company would insure a live in girlfriend (basicly what a common law is) and her offspring. If that is such a problem getting them insured and she is your common law wife, why not get it on paper and insure them?

Cfi sucks

Ok here is another thing on Cfi I found out recently that they had put an accident on my dac. After I looked into it It was when I was stuck in the mud after heavy rain at a place where I was making a trailer swap.as for the person that mentioned the benefits I am with a company now that does insure my common law wife and stepdaughter, I dont need a piece of paper to tell me that I am married.I am not posting lies about the company I am just stating facts.

This is something I had to learn hands on, you can't take 1 month and single it out but you need to take the "year" in total. (I do my average miles every 3 months)
Reason? cause your pay is going to be directly related to demand, freight has its up and its downs therefore your pay will reflect that. This is where planning and budgeting comes in..

Not trying to pick on anybody but just trying to give an outside view.
Ask these drivers what they consider "good" miles.
Ask them if they "live" in their truck.

The company tries to average each driver around 9600 +/- miles a month. Many CFI drivers live in their trucks.

From the inside/outside view. 2400 miles a week is a regional job. Not OTR. It can be legally run within 4 days easily. Only someone who enjoys living in their truck, or being away from their family. Would consider sitting in a terminal/truck stop for the remaining 3 days of the week.

I was once a priority team (part of) that was considered in the top 10% of their teams (their words not mine). And only got 5500 a week...as a team. Not good.

Good point....when I hear someone say "I get good miles or I get good pay" I ask them what do they consider good. One man's garbage is another man's treasure.
