yes they definitely play with the rates depending on the number of trucks their system shows going into an area, i've seen rates fall by 500 bucks in less than 1 week on identical loads although the fuel was the same price where the load originated from. IMHO they have fixed salary costs/operating costs that the pull from the top and then play with the rates by number of trucks available. ever notice how they ask for your T-number before they will quote a rate? kinda tells me they have a program running in their database that tells them what to offer to you based on what you have done for them in the past. when they put you on hold to "see if they can go up"--do you really think they are asking the branch manager if they can pay more????-no thats just a gimmick used in sales to give the impression that they are trying to get you the best deal.

I can tell you I now dislike CH Robinson. Sent a brokered load, 2 extra stops, and I have to call these idiots. Not only do they need to know everything about me, but they wanted my cell number (which I won't give any more). I told them their appointment time the next morning was ridiculous and I knew before I even picked up at the first shipper that I wouldn't be able to make it, yet I'm cruising down I-80/90 and they have the nerve to call (I thought I hit ignore, but apparently I hit speaker--if anyone listened to Howard Stern this morning and remembers the prank call involving a sheep, they got to listen to over a minute of that before I realized what I did and then hit END). When I called for the first shipper's information, they wouldn't give me the second pickup information. Wouldn't give me the first dropoff information until I had the second pickup on the trailer. I don't care about the rate, it pays me the same, but I think their practices of treating the drivers like trash earns them the same privilege of being treated as such.

had a real problem with the El Paso branch on friday. was booked on a load going from Las Cruces area to Jackson Mo. when i was less than 15 miles away they called and told me they changed it to a team load yet i had booked this load 3 days prior.then they "found" me a load to pick in El Paso that i could deliver the same day in Tucson so i booked a load from Phoenix for the next day.while at the shipper in El Paso i found out that CH Robinson had allowed another company to pick up my load resulting in me waiting for 3 hours for nothing. since they took away the load from Las Cruces i was forced to cancel a good paying load from Evansville In,and now with this error in El Paso, i would be forced to cancel the Phoenix as well since the load in El Paso would not be ready untill well after the reciever would be closed forcing me to wait untill Monday to deliver. they did not seem to be concerned a bit about the problems they caused and tried to harass me for stepping on their toes to find out the truth.(the shipper told me about CHR sending another truck to get my load).they were trying to decieve me into waiting without detention knowing that i would not be able to deliver that same day and causing me to miss yet another load.needless to say i left that load there and deadheaded to Phoenix to get this load i now have, honoring my commitment to my booking of this load. let me tell you what i found out-they DO keep a record of your cancellations and it does affect the rate you are quoted. we have a relationship with another branch who wanted the load numbers to inform corporate offices of what had transpired causing me to lose $2900 in lost loads.some of these branches (CHR) are very shady to deal with. the Guadalahara branch has pulled some BS on me also. i know that sometimes trucking is spelled with a "F" as the first letter-minus the "r".

the co's i work for us the ch group all the time. i let the company deal with most of those issues that you guys are complaining about. as far as directions, you cheap ppl that are so called drivers, buy a gps outside of a truck stop, they are all refurbished and overpriced. i'v been using a garmin now for three yrs now and i dont use their directions for that reason. and remember a gps is for cars not trucks you have to use your brains once in a while not your buttox. only the steering wheel holders are the ones complaining, maybe you should find another profession. no crybabies aloud

Its funny you should say no crybabies aloud.....all I've read from your posts is crying. From the 9 posts you've made so far I'm guessing you don't make it to 50 posts before you get shutdown. We all understand you don't see how we ever made with out you or any other supertrucker for that matter.
