And don't expect decent directions. 4 of the last 5 loads, I had to call local cops to meet me and give me different directions in to facilities. When you call CHRob to try and get the right directions, they expect YOU to call the company for the update...IF they give you the number at all; they don't like you calling them.

Especially if contstruction has the roads shut down, like at the International Paper warehouse in Hammond, IN. Or when the directions send you right, instead of going left like you should've been going in Somerset, NJ to end up on a non-marked, restricted route that Somerset's finest have to help bail you out of.

When I called them about the bad directions and was told that, I told them that it's their job to ensure the directions are accurate, not mine. THEN THEY HANG UP ON YOU!

I could go on and on. I wish my company stop using them. They are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to brokers and an absolute joke.

i pulled CH Robinson loads for years, never had a problem.yea, sometimes i had to call a reciever to get directions to a facility, but that happens in trucking.they are a typical broker-trying to make a buck just by being a middleman.i always found it helpfull to ask the shipper for the reciever's phone number if it wasn't already provided by CHR.if you're a company driver who is getting CHR freight for a backhaul then your gripe is with your company dispatcher who isn't giving you all the info off the load tender/rate confirmation sheet.what do you expect-a detailed map from every shipper, thats what laptops are for!

I've dealt with CHR a few times as a company driver for backhauls from the west and never had a bad experience with them. Sure, once they had bad directions... . But I have a laptop with mapping software and a USB GPS for that...

I've never had anyone at any CHR office treat me bad.... But on that same note, I'm as polite as possible to them... People need to realize that nobody is perfect.... They use mapping software just like anyone else.... If the software isn't up to date, it isn't their fault... As far as them hanging up on you.... Were you getting irate because you didn't get good directions? Remember, you are only dealing with you, CHR is dealing with hundreds of you at the same time in any given office....

I work for CH Robinson and we do have bad directions a lot of the time. Drivers do get annoyed with me sometimes because of our directions. The thing is we don't know where these places are we simply pick up the phone and call the receiver. The directions they give us are the ones we give you guys. We are not supposed to use mapping software like Mapquest because they don't give you truck routes. As far as us being, "the bottom of the barrel when it comes to brokers and an absolute joke" I think that is a little harsh. You guys think we are trying to screw you over on rates and think we are making tons of money which is not true at all. I am sure there are some Robinson employees that won't treat you fairly but, for the most part, we do what we can to help you out. Our customers are who determine our rates. If I have a load where my customer is only paying me $1.40/mile I can't turn around and pay a driver $1.50/mile because gas prices are high. Most of the time our hands are tied on what we can pay. We are not making large margins off of this freight. We push volume not high margins. I pay what I can, my paycheck is the same if I pay you $400 or $1000 it doesn't matter we are strictly salary. I dont get paid commission. There is only 1 out of 280 offices that gets paid commission. So many drivers bash CH Robinson. If you don't like our heavy freight or cheap rates don't take it. I had a driver the other day saying there is going to be an Owner Op strike to force us to pay higher rates. FYI-We can cover all of our loads year round and never use an owner op. CH Robinson is not going anywhere. CH Robinson has been here for over 100 years and we still grow 20% each year. We are the Wal-Mart of the transportation industry only CH Robinson only hires people with college degrees. Wal-Mart will hire you as long as you have a pulse. So, if you hate us, don't care, don't call us. For anyone else, find you a good office that will treat you fairly and find a few good contacts to work with.

I have not been with CHR long but I noticed very early that Carriers are nothing more than complainers. They complain about the rates, the weight and if they have a truck in GA. then they wont entertain any ideas about going west, north, or anywhere elese but the one place they ahve in mind which is usually this time of year somewhere in Fl. Carriers are #### PICKEY and for the record CHR is not in the business of screwing people I make less than most truckers!!!

I am a o/o who pulls CHR's freight on a daily basis. There is a load board to pick loads from, and you call the broker to negioate the freight. I think after you pull 10 loads from ONE office you can make them your "main" office if you want for all future referance. I work for the Iowa City office and they are GREAT there. Sure some of the freight is cheap, but there is plenty of GREAT loads out there. They sometimes don't have much room to work with, and other times the sky is the limit on what they pay you. I am yet to have a bad expierence with them or get a rude person for them.

As far as the directions, CHRobinsion is correct, it is YOUR job to call the shipper/reciver for ACCURATE directions to the place, not theirs. Remeber they are not a dispatcher they are a Broker WHICH IS A BIG DIFFERENCE.

I don't know why someone said they pay slow, they have 2 options of pay.

for 1.5% there is quick pay which the payment is processed in 2 business days once paperwork is recived or normal pay which takes 10 business days for no extra fee.

I just had a load where I waited 3+ hours to get loaded called my broker who called me back and said "if they haven't started in 15 mins call be back", sure enough 15mins on the dot they were loading me, and I got paid extra for that.

So far I have no problems with them.
