C.H. Robinson announces higher 3Q profit, lower revenue
Quote:
Third-party logistics provider C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, announced financial results for the third quarter ended Sept. 30. Net income was $95.5 million compared with $93.6 million during the year-ago period, while revenue fell 16 percent to $1.95 billion.

Net truck revenue increased 2.1 percent to $268.1 million, and net sourcing revenue climbed 9.3 percent to $30.9 million, which the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based company said was driven by volume growth and its September acquisition of Rosemont Farms. Operating expenses decreased 2.6 percent to $197.8 million.

It's easy to make more profit off of less revenue, if you take a bigger piece of the pie off the top. Now, this means less to the truck, but who cares about that.
