Helping the Deputies

Wow am I great or what? Just kidding. I am helping our local deputies get new bullet proof vests. I am a sucker for a helpful fundraiser and I couldnt resist. I know a deputy out here and I felt obligated, but dont tell the sheriffs department that lol

Nothing wrong with truckers and cops playing nice together. From what I've seen on this board their sense of right and wrong are much the same.

THOSE VESTS COST A LOT OF MONEY! don't a lot of sheriff's dept's and so forth make the officers pay for them?

Normally sheriff departments use profits from their forfiture auctions to get equipment like that.

Yes they do! ....There are places just for cops to purchase this stuff where they get a huge discount on these types of items.

I know in Houston they make the oficer pay for there own gun even. That just isn't right

I think that's a Texas thing. I know several Texas departments make their officers pay for their gun.
