missing truck driver from Oronoco

Authorities search for missing truck driver from Oronoco

Quote:
ORONOCO -- Local authorities are trying to find a 74-year-old Oronoco man reported missing by his daughter.
Sgt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said the daughter has not seen Ernest Daniels Jr. in three weeks. He is an over-the-road trucker and left on a trip earlier this month.

Behrns said Daniels left a voice message at Eagle Transport, his employer, saying he was leaving the semi in Youngstown, Ohio, and left directions where the truck could be found. Behrns said the truck was retrieved after police in Youngstown contacted the company saying the truck had been abandoned.

Behrns said the company provides drivers with a company debit card. The last time the one issued to Daniels was used was in West Virginia. Behrns said he didn't know when that was or where it was used.
He said Daniels is being sought to make sure he is OK. He said Daniels' daughter indicated her father suffers from early-onset Alzheimer's disease, is diabetic and has high blood pressure. Anyone who might have heard from Daniels is asked to call Behrns at 328-6752.

An elderly Oronoco man missing for the past three weeks has been found alive and well in West Virginia.
Sgt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said investigators were able to track Ernest Daniels Jr., 74, to Wheeling, W. Va. through use of a company debit card.
Behrns said police in Wheeling made contact with Daniels and said he is "doing fine."
Olmsted County authorities were contacted Tuesday by Daniels' daughter because she had not heard from him since he left the area on work. At the time, he was an over-the-road trucker for a local firm. He left the truck in Ohio and left a voice message with the company telling them where the truck could be found. He was not with the truck when authorities found it later.

Certainly glad he has been found.

I do hope though someone takes his keys for the safety of all.

He needs to retire and take it easy.
