Louisiana I-10 truckers please read

I hope you all do not mind me posting on your forum and hope that perhaps you might be able to offer some assistance. I maintain a blog about the mysterious deaths of several young women in Jeff Davis Parish Lousiana. I won’t go into the details of the deaths here but, unfortunately, just this week another young lady was found murdered bringing the total now to 8. I realize this may be a long-shot but still, I would like to take it in hopes that by some slim chance, you or one of your fellow truckers may have possibly seen something.

On Thursday, August 19, 2009, victim #8, a 27 year old female, was found on a grassy embankment along west bound I-10 between mile markers 72 & 73. The area is located between the towns of Jennings, LA and Crowley, LA.

It appears the body was likely removed from a vehicle, stopped on the shoulder of I-10, and rolled down the embankment. Odds are this was done at night under the cover of darkness although not for sure about that. The young lady was last seen on Sunday, August 16, 2009 so the dumping of the body could have taken place anytime between the 16th and when she was found around 2:30 pm on the 19th.

Like I said, I realize this is a long-shot but, I’m not discounting the possibility that someone may have seen something and didn’t realize at the time what was taking place. There is a great deal of trucking traffic on I-10 so maybe, just maybe, one of you that travel that particular stretch I referenced above may have seen some rather odd activity. For those of you that don’t travel that area…….if you happen to know a fellow trucker that does……please, please pass this information on. My hope is to get this information out as quickly and as far reaching as possible.

Anyone that may have information is urged to contact the task force that has been formed to investigate these unsolved murders. The number is (337) 824-6662.

One last thing, and I’m not trying to insinuate anything here but, I don’t want anyone who MAY have seen something to rule out the possibility of a suspicious vehicle being a marked patrol vehicle (law enforcement) and I’ll just leave it at that.

Thank you for reading my post.

Just a reminder........although some of you may not travel that I-10 route between Lake Charles and Lafayette, LA please keep in mind colleagues you know that do and pass this info on to them. You all are the eyes and ears of our roadways so maybe you, or someone else, can help. The young lady was found on the west bound side by the way. Thanks so much for your time.

I read the article about these poor girls.
Regardless of their lifestyle, and bad choices in life, their murders should not be dismissed because of it.

I wish you luck in gathering any information that will help catch their murderer.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I'm just glad to know someone has heard of these murders.

For all you drivers, just a little clarification on the body location. It was located directly before an overpass........not an exit. I believe the nearest exit is for the town of Egan, LA.

I just thought I'd bump this up for you. BTW Crowley has Rices Palace best corn nuggets and stuffed crab shell around. A pretty busy place. Might want to check with them and see if their workers saw or remember anything. Just a thought.

Hinting that a law enforcement officer might be the one doing this.

If it is that person will know of ways to track folks down and the end result often isn't pretty.
