He has a restriction because the truck he tested in didn't have a 5th wheel. They do that in GA as well.

Have a friend in FL had a B with airbrakes. Then got his A to run his hotshot rig. Airbrake was either not allowed or it said "no semis." He now has the big boy license :biggrin_25523:

Just thought I'd throw this out there as a Freight driver that has been here for a little while now.. Some of the latest news..

One of the things that was generally not liked here was the fact we did not have access to the company policy manual - not sure when it was made available but Freight drivers can now view it in its entirety on the employee portal..

Something I'm not a fan of at all and feel is the only total BS part of the new safety policy.. If any part of the combination is upset it's an automatic termination - now considered a catastrophic accident.. According to policy I could total a truck, a dolly, and two (or three) trailers and still be employed so long as there is no fatality and all units stay upright.. Should I flip a kite I'm terminated though.. It happens to the best of us whether it's inattention for a spit second or a top heavy wagon.. I can think of an instance about three years ago where a two million mile accident free driver got squirly on icy roads and ate the median flipping his kite - the Highway Patrol from that state acknowledged the driver prevented much worse by taking his set off the road.. Should he be fired?? He would now but I think not.. He should receive the accident points but be commended for proper actions in a bad situation.. IMO, all roll-overs should go to the safety board now before any driver is terminated

As of 1/01/2011, we got back the last of the pay cut taking us back to 23.55 and .555 at the old CCX terminals.. Good news I suppose but we should have never lost it in the first place.. Doug S is our acting President at Freight (President of CNWY) and is a day one man from CCX so I fully expect a no BS approach from him.. Our last two Presidents not so much.. Dave M. is now at Central Tranport..lol.. John L. cut our pay but walked away with his golden parachute - he's now at CRST where he belongs since he does not believe in driver pay.. Not funny but hahaha..

We've seen a lot of positive changes around here in the last few months and I hope it continues along these lines.. I understand this is largely a TL board but Freight is by far the largest entity of CNWY so our success is vital to CNWY as a whole.. I know that for the most part OTR drivers sign on with companies for short term reasons but since we're planning on making this our career on the LTL side, this is important to us...

Very sorry to report that a Freight driver from Albany, NY lost his life the other morning on I80 in Pa..

I'm very familiar with that road from Oh to NJ and I have very strong beliefs based off the information provided in the article but that is for another day.

Rest in peace Mark - your family and friends are in my prayers..
