It is a $100 pay cut a week and I really like it at CONWAY but if I can't be w/ my family I want to make money

You have been at this a lot longer than I have.....but I have to toss in my .02 anyway. I left Con-way for a local job a few months back. BAD idea!!!!!! That one didn't work out, and the job I have now isn't any better. I am eligible for re-hire at Con-way in March, plan on coming back then. One of my complaints about Con-way was the amount of time I would spend sitting sometimes. In hindsight, it wasn't nearly as bad as I made it out to be. Thanks for listening.

Got a load at 14:30, it had its annoyances (wrong PU #, Wrong Freight Broker fax #, and dispatched delivery time when shp/rec was closed) but I'm happy to be back out. I fixed my delivery time w/ the customer and am delivering in the AM in an area that I always get another load quickly from

I know lots of people that has happened to. My situation is a little different it's a smaller company owned by a family friend so I very well might switch in the future anyway but for now as long as miles stay relatively consistent, our safety rating doesn't get bad, and the people I interact with In the office are pleasant I've got no reason to leave.

Well I had a screwup today that had me sitting waiting for several hours at a shipper. It started with the Mexico office not giving us a complete pickup number, and then there were glass pieces in the crevices between the boards that wouldn't come out. Finally after 6.5 hours at the shipper I got loaded and I am now sitting in Effingham, Il. Gonna hit Joplin on my way down to Laredo and try to get the airlines replaced so I don't lose all air pressure overnight. Seems like it would be an easy fix just changing it off the compressor from grommets to screw in lines, but they say it will take some time.

Some minor hiccups, but loving it.

I just today at petro had 4 quick disconnects on air lines replaced with brass fittings and unions.
On my freightliner, whenever it got cold, the would leak.

Made it to my delivery in Chester, PA. Receiving office opened 45 min early and I am next in line to unload. The dock guy is your typical "not a morning" person asked me why I was there then proceeded to yell at a guy from Clarke Transport for not being awake and ready to back in (remember they arent suppose to open till 0800) so we will see how this day starts after I'm backed in seems it could go either way. The more shp/rec I deal with the more I'm reminded why it takes a special kind of person into self-punishment to drive OTR

All went well bought the guy coffee and breakfast off the hot truck and was unloaded w/ in 20 min of getting to the dock, needless to say, he was in a better mood after eating. As I thought I'm #1 on the board should get out of here quickly hopefully not to Philly or NYC but it all pays so I don't mind too much
