    Day 5

Slept real good last night after having to get up so early for a night drive. Got to the school and heard they were calling for some strong storms to roll through so the guys wanted to get us finished up by lunch or shortly thereafter. 3 of us still needed to do the obstacle course and then all 6 of us had to do our final drives. Did pretty good on that obstacle course, was both fun and challenging as I had to really watch where I was going and where my tractor was going. Did fairly well.

Next we split off into our two groups and hit the road for our final drive. We were all a bit nervous as they told us we could fail this one and get sent home. We had all been thinking it was just something we were going to be graded on. Luckily all our nerves held and no one failed we'll all be going back to Joplin on Monday.

Now we're all chilling out looking forward to a weekend to ourselves, though we're not quite sure what we're going to do...

    Day 6 & 7

    Day 6

Hopped on the Con-way bus early this morning to come back up to Joplin from Neosho, swung past the Holiday Inn to pick up the next round of new folks and off we went to the terminal.

Started out in the big group while they took roll call then was seperated off into the group of 6 that came back from Neosho. We then did a bunch of final paperwork stuff and had our pictures taken for our official employee badges. Even got to take a tour of the place.

After lunch we watched another video and did some stuff on logs and mapping before getting our badges and heading back to the hotel.

    Day 7

Up early and on the bus again to go back for the last sets of videos, more on mapping and the rest on logs. We also learned about the Smith System and how that works and went out in a van to practice what we learned. Now we all just get to wait for the magic phone call to tell us who are trainers are and when we're leaving. (Except one who left this morning (5/2) at 7 to go out with his trainer.)

An update for you folks. I'll be heading out on Sunday with my finisher. So now I'll just spend the week getting the last few things I need and getting ready to load it into the truck after meeting up with her on Friday.
