Hey guys, I was recently asking another forum if they know about any companies that offer sponsored training and also have a pet policy, and one of the users advised me to ask you guys about Con-Way.

So, basically, do they pay for your training? And if so, do they cover the costs of accomodation (hotel, food, etc?) during training?

Just got off the phone. Here's the deal, in case any future wanna-be truckers are curious:

Con-Way does have a tuition assistance program, but it only pays HALF of the costs. But, included in this "half" is also food, accomodations, and costs for licensing and drug screening. The full cost of tuition is 4,400, so the student needs 2,200 for upfront costs.

It's really a great bargain. The schooling, housing, food, tests, and training, for only 2,200 dollars. That is hands-down one of the best program deals out there right now, so people should definitely look into it and take advantage of that. Unfortunately, I have nowhere near 2,200 for upfront costs, so I'll have to settle with a less desirable company like Prime or Swift :(

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Call back and ask about the training near Taylor...cost if more but you can finance like 80% of it
    think it's around $2600

There's nothing wrong with Prime or Swift. No money up front with Prime and they have a pet policy. Prime flatbed looks good. Hey, you do what you have to do to fit your wants and needs. Not everyone is going to agree with you, but they aren't looking for a job, you are.

Just filled out an online application for Prime today. Any advice if I don't hear back from them in a few days? Should I call a recruiter and perhaps a recruiter is capable of hurrying the process up?
