I recently inquired about the program and this is the info I recall:
$0.94/mile plus FSC (been around 40cpm). Average weekly miles for IC are 2500 (compared to 2200 for company). You are dispatched, though not forced, so not sure how much control you have over lanes. Free truck washes at terminals, permits paid, tolls/scales reimbursed, free (required) qualcomm, discounted fuel (~$0.35 off), free labor on oil changes at terminal, discounted repairs, plus other ancillary pay including:
$35 per extra stop
$60 per day layover (qualify after 48 hours -- first 24 hours free)
$80 per driver assist
$25 per loaded border crossing
I believe, but can't affirmatively recall, that there are extra cpm for Hazmat (1cpm?) & NE (5cpm?).
Option to lease-purchase former company trucks through a 3rd party. Current trucks available are '09 T660's with 350-400K, Cummins engines, super singles & tag axles. Monthly payments of ~$2000, residual payment of $13,000. Works out to a financing rate of about 20% APR for ~36 months (based on an assumption of $65,000 market value). 100K mile warranty on powertrain.
For me, the numbers don't work out much better than company driver, but your tolerance for risk & desire to own a truck may exceed mine.dirtycurty26, Jrdude5 and NFI786 Thank this. -
They used to be one of the best but I don't know too much a bout them since they Joined CFI I think their rates went way down hill due to truck availability from CFI
