ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!

Conway Truckload/Formerly CFI loves that attitude. I personally know a guy who jumped on 12 back to back runs, of 300 miles over a 12 day period. He b#### and moaned to every driver that would listen. Never said a word to his FM..two thumbs up for the team player.

Made for a hell of a paycheck.
yup, that's not bad considering those would be short hops and I am sure there would be accessory pay involved. Again, I would think it was better to make a little than to sit at a truckstop and swap stories, waiting for the "big one". Plus it will add up when the bonuses come to be. Sounds like a win-win

Oh Bobby.... for what it is worth, I have agreed with a lot you have said. I may not have necessarily jumped in there, but I've learned a lot from your posts!

Thanks for it all!

I know, Scooter .... lol . And you are quite welcome!!! You're a good man and you're going to be a very good truck driver!!! Not many of you around!! I might get hit by a snowball for saying this but some truck drivers expect runs "they want" to be handed to them on a silver platter. Some even think that they are too good for short runs. They don't realize that short runs makes more miles which means more money!!! The week that my hubby got 3000 miles underneath him .... those had a few short run relays during that week!

If you're poor at managing your personal finances. It ain't worth a damn.

In my case, I can take off 6 months without pay. And not be affected. Other than watching my bank/savings account get smaller.

I'm not in this business to see if I can die behind the wheel of a truck. I doing my level best to die in a tree stand, being a family kind of guy, or out ho'n around.

Yes you are right you do not get any pay (unless you have earned paid vacation time after being there a certain amount of year/s).

Let me tell you, after being out there for weeks/months without any break you are ready to get off the truck and when you get back home you value the time you have and the more days banked the better. Its a time to regain your sanity ~lol~, rest and relax and enjoy life. We used to stay out for 6 - 8 weeks at a time and then come home for 7 -8 days - we loved it - and really when it is time to go back out one feels refreshed and ready to roll again.

If you decide to become a driver, you will realize why banking days is a great thing.

Good luck .

So Far, So Good....

Well, just to let ya'll know, I have gotten a prehire and a scheduled orientation for Feb 9th from Christine, however I still have to do my telephone interview with her. She told me last week tat she was buried in paperwork, but she would try to get back with me (I am expecting TODAY).

Anyway, just though I would pop my head in here and let you know how it is going. I am now halfway through school and things are coming together nicely. Already passed all my yardwork, classroom, and CDL tests. I have gotten just a little time behind the wheel, but I am told that I should get ready to do a lot of driving next week. "I'll take PSYCHED for a thousand please, Alex"

SO there ya are..... any recent info from current Conway drivers or their spouses (hey there Bobby!) would be appreciated!

Thanks!
