Going to Conway

    That's pretty lame of them - that would not happen here. Our new drivers said they did the online thing but also stopped by the terminal in person.

    I hope I'm talking about the same thing here. I applied to CFI over the phone. It was the easiest application for a job I ever submitted. I did'nt even have all my accurate information available at the time. The recruiters I have been working with are. Suzie and Robin in Joplin, MO. They were both gracious and very helpfull.

    I'm now waiting to start orientation next Monday.

    I see you are leaving Stevens Jerry. They rubbed me the wrong way when I applied there. They weren't interested in me because I already had my CDL.

    They are just another fleece operator ripoff company.

    I had forgotten to check into CFI since I talked to a recruiter back in October or November. Maybe they wil take students now.

    I am set for Swift orientation next week Feb 9th.

    Yeah. . .Had enough at Stevens. They wanted me to go back to the company side but I declined. I was robbed blind with that Alliance lease. . .After I came out from under the eather I could'nt justify driving for them anymore. . . I quit Stevens to work for Conway/CFI.

    We'll that turned out to be disasterous. . .

    I got thru orientation ant was assigned a truck that was in deplorable condition. I refused the truck. Everyone I talked to (All weekend support staff). Insisted that was my truck and I was now responsible for getting everything fixed. To make a long story short. Conway assumed the possition that there was nothing wrong with the truck and I have to accept it as-is. By the time I drove up to Joplin to personally meet wit HR folks, they already had my employment terminated in the computer.

    Nobody is more shocked at the outcome then me.

    I may write a more detailed post about this later.

    I'll say this. . .STEVENS has their problems but at least they give you a clean, roadworthy truck to drive.

    Conway is not perfect, not by any means.

    Don't know anything about SWIFT. For all we know they could be a good place to work.
    You will just have to try them and see.

    I sure as hell can't reccomend. CFI.

    Me and another guy were told our trucks were ready and waiting for us at W. Memphis.
    When we got there our trucks were both parked side by side. Both trucks were 06 T600. His truck looked really good. Mine was filthy inside, body damaged outside and the brakes failed a pump down test. No way I will assume responsibility for someone elses mess.

    I was given no recourse or any other alturnatives.

    Why Conway did this is beyond me.
