__One is the Upgrade you do upon completion of your training with your trainer (approx 35-40 days out) Once completed, there is a series of tests before being assigned your truck and given your first load assignment. The tests include a road test + backing (both straight backing + alley docking) We completed this back in Mid November and have been over the road ever since.
__The other Upgrade we found out was mistakenly sent to us. It is the upgrade designed for those who are teamed for a period of time, but wish to go solo. This Upgrade is basically the same type of test, but a bit more difficult. Once the driver passes this upgrade, he or she has proven they are capable of going solo.
__So as a husband/wife team, obviously, we are a permanent fixture. (my husband might beg to differ. LOL!) No need to test out to go solo! We checked into it and after a certain amount of time (I believe six months?), the husband/wife team automatically are upgraded in pay as long as (specificly to the law) there are no serious log or driving violations.
So thank you astarcher74. You helped clarify this for US!!
Well.... this is new to me. I finished my 6 months teaming almost 4 yrs ago and went solo with no update.

I upgraded right around thanksgiving and didn't go home either, but don't recall getting any holiday pay for working through. I did get a $200? bonus for working from dec 20-jan2. The bonus amount probably wasn't worth giving up christmas at home, but the last minute miles were fantastic

That's unfortunate. I've tried to avoid specifics in case upidty-ups are looking -- I hope the company didn't pressure you one way or the other.

Company is recalling the drivers to Chattanooga and kicking them in the nuts for online posting regarding Covenant.

Freedom of speech is not condoned in company policy there anymore.

That is the word I received in a phone call from someone else yesterday at any rate. I can't say for sure it is true, but came here to investigate if there was any sign of them enforcing this policy on members of various forums.

If any covenant drivers would care to confirm, or deny this information, feel free to PM me and let me know.

If someone from the company wishes to confirm or deny this, they are welcome to do so in the open forum for all to see.

If a company is concerned about what employees have to say about it, maybe that company needs to step back and take a long, hard look at itself.

Any company that is afraid of what its employees has to say about it is not a company I would want to work for. But then I drive for a company that treats drivers like valuable assets, not sub-human machines.

Or they could just do what Prime & CR England do, which is to employ people to pretend to be one of their drivers and come on the forums and pretend to be Mr. Super Happy Lease Operator who thinks the company is the bee's knees.

I have been taking "hometime" near company terminal and had some talk with folks there. No time now but will post something about that later. I believe TransportHer will come back to this forum sometime in the future. Met them at terminal. They are wonderful people! And real drivers, not some 'in-house' person pretending they are drivers (which is what I had thought they were at the beginning of their postings).

Could it be "upgrading" puts them into the real world of Covenant and the happy days will be ending ?
