It's probably been covered
Hi all,
The info I'm looking for has probably been covered in one of the many Covenant threads but I can't find it.
I've read through a lot of the Covenant info.
I have a pre-hire from Covenant (and others) and sent my physical info to the recruiter.
My physical is good so she wants to schedule my orientation.
My questions: (from those who have lived it)
How long is orientation?
What is the orientation pay?
How long would I run with a trainer?
What is the pay while with a trainer?
I understand I would have to team for 6 months.
What is the team pay rate?
How many miles can I expect? (I know this is a difficult question to answer accurately, ball park figure is OK).
I'm a recent CDL school graduate.
I hope to change my status from student to driver 0-1 sometime this month.
Sorry for so many questions, I am down to the wire on 3 different company offers.
Thank you all for taking time to read and respond.

4 days, & ~$100 if you are hired. free room/board during that week.
minimum of 35 days. Plan on 45 days because you will sit some days & wont get to a terminal the exact day you qualify to upgrade. How long would I run with a trainer?
What is the pay while with a trainer?
Pay is $450/week plus $0.01/mile if you have hazmat (~$50/week during training)
If your csa score is low & you have no preventables, you can upgrade to solo-capable at 3 months (from the date you tested out of training). Even if you stay team, the base pay goes up so test out if elligible.I understand I would have to team for 6 months.
For a hazmat driver that upgrades asap:What is the team pay rate?
How many miles can I expect? (I know this is a difficult question to answer accurately, ball park figure is OK).
1-3 months: $0.17 per total mile (=$0.34/mile solo)
4 months: $0.18 per total mile
5-6 months: $0.21 per total mile
7-12 months: $0.23 per total mile
There is an additional $0.01/mile safety bonus paid every 3 months.
Non hazmat drivers make about 3cpm less...
Miles will depend on how hard you run, how long you stay out, how reliable you are, and how well you communicate with dispatch. You'll hear people getting anywhere from 3000 to 7000... I averaged 5000-5500, but had a week as high as 8200 and one as low as 3500.
you will also get $125 or $150 each month for tuition reinbursement.I'm a recent CDL school graduate.
If you work hard, are willing to team, & dont need to be home but once a month, Covenant will pay as well as anyone. Just remember to double team pay rates when comparing wages with solo companies because you'll get 17cpm for all 5500 miles the truck moves -- not just the 2750 miles you drove.I hope to change my status from student to driver 0-1 sometime this month.

I appreciate the info DY.
I'm confused about this part
the part in red)
Pay is $450/week plus $0.01/mile if you have hazmat (~$50/week during training)
What is the ~$50 indicate? Possible extra because of hazmat?
I have my hazmat.
Sorry to seem obtuse.
thanks for the answers.
I have followed your thread closely.

yeah, so during training it'll be about 500 total per week if you have hazmat (450 + 50)

Bert57nc, the hazmat upgrade pay is actually .02 per mile for all miles. That applies to students and experienced drivers. In essence, a 5000 mile week will pay you $450 plus $100 for hazmat or $550 total. The $450 is guaranteed, the miles are not. Everything else double yellow quotes looks right to me with the new pay raise that just went in place. Good luck!
