Question for Covenant Teams...we are looking to sign up with a Carrier has Husband and Wife Team. We have been talking to Recruiters from Covenant and can not get a clear answer to what kind of miles Teams do there. We consider ourselves a 1.5 team. WE like to run between 700 and 800 miles daily, but our concern is that with UPS and Fed Ex loads Covenant is needing there Teams to run double shifts. Any Teams who have experience with this situation and can give us insight would be greatly appreciated. :biggrin_25520:

Hubby and I are also looking for exact same info... We like to keep it around 800-900 a day, and we as well spoke to a recruiter from covenant. His answer to the "miles" question was that they were looking for hard running teams. After speaking t other drivers, I hear that they average 3800-4200 a wk, I did however fin one covenant team who was a averaging around 5800. Hopefully someone could answer this question fairly soon.

You guys should call in to the ops manager at Covenant instead of talking to recruiters. I can tell you my wife and I are 5500-6000 miles per week type of team. But I know that there are runs that are 700-800 miles for teams that might work well for you. His extension is 3700 if you want to call him. Mr. Vanzant will help you. Good luck. Tell him Jim said hello!

I don't understand what you mean a 1.5 team? And with the 700 to 800 miles a day? From my experience, it's unpredictable. Some loads are short 700 to 800 mile runs, some are 2000 miles. If there is a 2000 mile run and your the only truck, I would expect you have no option. You can't be too picky in this industry. But definitely talk with Mr vanzant, they are always willing too listen.

thx for the replies... but there seems to be some miscommunication, by 1.5 team I mean that we do not like to drive (run) over nite while one person sleeps and the other drives... we start early (5 or 6) and drive late (10 or 11) av. around 700 to 800 miles daily... regardless of the total length of the load. now of course... in special situations we can drive more... but we just don't want to do that all the time for 4 weeks strait....I understand that many teams drive round clock to makes the big bucks... but being a "couple" we enjoy spending time together and helping each other out (phone calls, navigation, snacks..) from the passenger seat.
good luck to everyone out there and safe driving

Sometimes that arrangement is called super single or super solo. If Covenant isn't set up for it, you can surely find some place that is.
