Are they the best co. I've every drove for? No. They need more dispatchers cause right now they are waaaayy understaffed. They have like 1 dispatcher for every 50 or so drivers. But I run the loads I'm given, even if I dont want to run them, I get my miles in and I'm doing pretty good. I do have crappy weeks, but thats with every company. Everyone has a bad week. But your experience with a company is what you make of it. I know some drivers here that dont get squat for miles. I know a team that often runs less miles than I do per week (no they arent happy), but I get my miles and my $$$ so I cant really complain.

    I agree!

[QUOTE=meat999;517071]im not understanding this-- everything most of you guys have to say about covanent is bad, yet you have drove for them. and then for one of you to say I just cant drive for a godly company sounds like a crock of ###### . if you have never drove for them stop acting like you know all--heck maybe you do But they gave me the chance to get my foot in the door and im running with it. And from the people i know that work there, you will get the miles as a team at least 6500 a week and they are happy. So i tend to think if they were that bad they would be no-more. but I am a newbie but i got a brain to think with!! and by the looks of this web site- there is something wrong with every dang company-- some people just cant be happy!![/QUOT

I know this post is so old, but darn I couldn't I agree more.

I have been with Covenant since April/08. It's just a big company like any other one. It's a training company but they are now expanding their business to O/O and so far all the 3 O/Os I've talked to who are leasing Cov trucks are satisfied and running good miles. I am solo, run on a dedicated account, have a great load planner and dispatcher who keep me busy, rarely give me any problems, and help me whenever I need. The pay is not that spectacular but there are some conveniences hard to find anywhere else. Folks in the company (log dept/ safety dept/ fuel dept/ breakdown, shop, etc) have been very nice and I have no complains.

Are you saying each individual should be making in the 20's per mile? Cuz our total is 28 cents for the team, split obviously. None of this is good?

And as for CFI, that is where I am going immediately after my first 6 months with whoever. I can't go there til my minor consumption is 5 years old (6 more months). I have a contact their named Christine who said I was good to go as soon as the 6 months is up.

So, since I am so new, maybe you guys can give me the info I need to make a good first decision. What am I looking for as an individual of a team (my brother) per mile, during and after training. We want to make good money of course, but I guess it's harder to find that right away. I don't know...clue me in so I can start doing some better research, instead of research I just THOUGHT was good.

    Thanks guys (and gals?)

(oh, and I have a dog, who must be able to go with us...period ) thanks again
As for a good decision,if at all possible put trucking out of your head all together. Pick up aluminum cans ,wash cars,do what ever it takes, unless it's an absolute have to case.
