Sorry Fred about the small type vision test, and yes you passed it. And I didn't realize you had to have the physical card to renew. I have to renew this year. I have a current card but need to renew the physical in Aug. and I have to renew my cdl by nov. Sorry Fred about your predicament and my error. Sounds like your ready to go for it and have thought it out pretty good.

Move to Alabama (temporarily... wink wink) Call up Reid State College in Evergreen, AL and schedule an appointment to take your third party road test. Pay them $100 (might be more now... that was two years ago) and they will give you the test, using their truck.
You'll need to pass the written test beforehand where upon passing, they'll give you the third party test form to take to the college.
Pass the pretrip, parking lot skills and then the short road test. Bam! CDL in hand.
I had been out of a truck for 10 years and was a bit more than rusty. I had to take the road test twice. (another $100)Last edited by lilillill; 03.05.2010 at 09.02 PM. Reason:: typo... my keebord wuz brokun

Fred,
As a former office employee, it's another part of their scam!! RUN!! They reel you in with a "refresher" course, then you'll be told that you need the "entire course." Of course to pay for that, they will give you financing options which include the one year contract with payroll deductions. England no longer hires company drivers, L/O ONLY! Once they get you in the lease program......well let's say may God/Allah/Budah or whoever be with you, 'cause you're gonna need them all.

Them rat ######## are always up to something!
I was looking at the Pride Transport website last night, apparently, the "Englands" are so hoity toity these days that they use an initial before there name, as in "D Jeffrey England"and"H Patricia England"
. See the link http://www.pridetransport.com/meet_owners.php

Just a little goofy in my book.

For the record, you do not have to show a current Med Card to renew your CDL in Va. just take the tests for the Hazmat and do the backround checks if you want the endorcement.

I recently taked to a CR England recruiter. I have been out of a truck and work since April 2007 taking care of my mother. The recruiter was ok with that and told me I would need ten days with a trainer. I asked him about regional dedicated lanes, he told me I could get one if available after training. I have been reading about this team and L/O deal and I wouldnt go for either of them. Could my recruiter actually be lieing to me? Do they pay for orientation? I might just do that to entertain myself regardless.

) got my CDL, drove for them about 6 months and went the other "sons" company, Pride Transport, where I was for about a year. Then I went to stinky Dick for about another year. After my DM got canned and I got taken off my dedicated route, I really didn't have much of an interest in driving anymore, so I left. I left all 3 on good terms, good safety record and such.

Getting out of the Army next week!
