OK fawne, I no longer believe you are a recruiter. But for you own safety, please edit your phone number and that of your parents off of here, and don't EVER post personal information on a bulletin board.

    FWIW, I am also a Republican. . .

Yeah sorry about that i am not really afraid of anyone or anything. I was just having one of those moments. I just really think that it is bad that people always claim that recruiters actually would waste their time coming to this forum (no offense to the forum) when they have better things to do with their time .. such as; talk to a bunch of desperate suckers over the phone and try to convince them that they are not scamming them. There are plenty of desperate suckers over the phone, and plenty of newspaper adverts out there there is no need for these jerks to come to a public forum to recruit some drivers that are already pissed off that they are not getting paid enough. Just my 2cents

If it has happened before then fine, but that doesn't give everyone the right to go around calling everyone else a recruiter just because they have a different opinion.

I have yet to have seen any recruiters here. We are not twelve year olds.

I would not say do not go to CRE. Everybody has to start somewhere. Somehow, someway you have to get a piece of plastic that says you can legally drive an 18 wheeler. With a little luck and some determination CRE can give you that leg up. They charge dearly for it but they will do it.

You have read my posts and you know my view.
But once again for old times sake.

    1) Use CRE not the other way around.
    2) Scoot just as soon as you can.
    3) Don't take them seriously, they will try to get you to do this. Be a good actress and play along until you can va va voom!

Lastly my dear these folks on the forum are not advising you out of malice. It is genuine knowledge borne out of experience. Nobody is criticizing you and we all support you. You are going to have a wonderful life trucking look forward to that as you go through the CRE mill.
To give you an example :-
Last night I drove over from Oklahoma City to Muscogee. I went to the customer and then the Choctaw casino and wasted $8 (my loose change). I then returned to my air conditioned (electric APU) Prostar watched King Of The Hill on my laptop ate cheese and crackers and slept like a baby. As I walked over to the casino I saw the stars and giggled to myself how much I loved this over my previous job in electrical engineering.
To be free AND get paid for it - you gotta just click your heels.
YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT!

However there is a price to be paid i.e. CRE.
Go for it! You are much better off than most. You have taken the time to intelligently research the company. You KNOW exactly what kind of buggers they are. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Good luck girl and welcome to the wonderful world of trucking. You are almost there.

BTW I am sitting in my truck waiting for the coffee to brew and banging this out on my laptop. All I need is in this truck - a home on wheels. Yes I do have downtime - God bless those 10 hours breaks, I love my life.:biggrin_25525::biggrin_2559:

fawne, some people just like getting screwed. thats all. I've never worked for cre though, so i cant say anything...

You do have to get your experience *somewhere*. That said, i started at CRST, got the screw big time (wasnt even being paid, lol. problems finding and keeping codriver, being ditched places by the company with no pay for weeks at a time....), came to werner, did "good" for a while (so i thought!), then in the last 2 months started getting screwed...I'm leaving this week, and as long as i can pass a drug test, physical, and road test (gosh, its been 6 months since i backed up a 40' trailer!), i'll be getting started with a tanker company that, does not even have a section on "the trucking company dac reports", i cant find any complaints about, and, heres the kicker..they'll pay me what i make on my best weeks ever at werner...for training. Hourly layover pay, hourly detention pay, and the terminal is run like a dedicated account would be at werner. small office trailer, doesnt even have AC, dispatch right there, get to the terminal 3+ times a week, ... of course, this place wouldn't hire me without experience OTR.

You probably don't wanna run tankers, but there's companies like that out there for vans. A lot of people seem to end up at places like cre or werner and dont even try to get on with better, cause they think thats what its like..oh well. more openings for me.

You know, every once in a while im at a werner terminal and hear people #####in bout how great the company was when CL ran it, and how his sons have screwed it up....and how they used to pay XXXX more. I finally got someone to tell me when the company was passed down "oh around 2004", looked up a copy of the website from 1995, and found the pay was *the same*....

people are so full of crap sometimes,...

like i just said above, people are full of crap. I have *SEEN* recruiters come here. For the most part the ones i saw *admitted* to it. Every once in a while someone accusees someone of it without much reason, and for that..meh. You really cant prove who someone is on here...
It's probably some kind of sick passtime to see how stupid we really are.

and hey, you could be one! So could i! If i was a CRE, swift, etc recruiter, wouldn't i want to say bad stuff about werner?
