You don't have to tell them your going to lease. In fact just stand your ground and refuse to walk into the leasing office.

    corneileous Thanks this.

Is that a recent change? I did all my training on dedicated accounts so we had a few different rules.

Had a friend that went down to Salt Lake City Ut to do driver training with CR England a few weeks back he was saying it was going to cost around $5000 i'd also heard you had to sign up for 2 years that would be rough if you were only on a pay rate of 25c a mile. ever if the rate went up 1c ever 6 month after 2 years you'd only be on 29c a mile when i started at LW's our start rate was 32c a mile . :biggrin_2558:

Back when I was a phase 1 trainer the student cost $37.36 per day whenever they signed in via the student macro on the Qualcomm.

Some days I would be sitting waiting to deliver and the student would be making more money then me that particular day.

I don't think it's a recent change to my knowledge and also, I don't know why you being on dedicated would have different rules; training should be considered as the same, regardless if the trainer is OTR, dedicated, intermodal, regional or container.

Back when we were in training three years ago, both phase 1 trainers we had let me drive the graveyard shift. Whether or not they got into hot water for it is beyond me but I never called and talked to the safety man for driving the "risky hours". I always figured it was because I told them that when we got released from training that I would be driving exclusively at night while my wife drove during the day so I figured it was much needed training on driving at night.

If you live in southern cal the company intermodal is a good way to go. They drive red day cabs and gross about a grand a week with paid vacations.

I did my phase 2 on the cheyenne Walmart and they did not allow students to drive the grave shift. I also know the Sorento dedicated out of Nampa didn't allow it either.

Hmm, musta been something with those dedicated accounts.

It wouldn't surprise me none though, because of the Walmart dedicated and the container fleet, CRE has to suck it up and let the trucks that are in those fleets have a sliding fifth-wheel.
