They will starve you out if you don't train. If you go solo and have a lease, you'll never get enough miles to keep your house afloat. The students they get, in some cases, should never even been considered as a truck driver in the first place.
It is a shame a company is like that, but they are ruining their own reputation I'm afraid.

I wouldn't work for a company that lets someone with less than 1 year in the seat train! My go your still learning!
Marky84, Giggles the Original, Trucail and 3 others Thank this. -
73k? Meh.......
I'll make that this year and be home everyday after working less than 55hrs a week.UKJ, road_runner, Gearjammin' Penguin and 3 others Thank this. -
You won't be able to buy that 2013 Cascadia until the lease is up in 2016-2017 plus they probably will want 14,000 down and you will have to meet their credit criteria. I meet a lot of lease ops who say how great CRE is then a couple of months later they are talking about turning their truck in.
My truck is paid off and I only netted about $70,000 a year because I wouldn't run hard miles with a student. Its just a matter of time before either the trainer or student wreck that truck running 5K+ miles a week.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
You are going to make good money as a trainer.Who gets paid for all those miles?

By the way ever tried to pull any money from your maintanance account? -
Actually the trainer on 1st phase pays about$37.50 a day for the honor of having a student, and 2nd phase pays the student .12Cents a mile for every mile they both drive. Also the l/o has to pay for all the fuel, tolls, oil, any other maintenace issue. Husband was paying his 2nd seat co-driver he had for a few months and the guy was making more money than he was.
If you get miles around the 5000-6000 mile range it would be great and maybe you would make some money to, but they seem to have a habit of cutting these miles down to a whole heck of a lot less.
And don't forget the maintenance needed after the students drive the truck and mess up the clutch and transmission will take up your time in the shope with no miles being driven. -
(Seems CRE's hiring people to register at every trucker site and just type random, incoherent screeds about how great they are and how you suck if you want to be treated like anything other than a cash cow. Hope they at least paid this guy more than he'd have gotten for a donation at the blood bank.) -
