You sound like someone who is looking for CDL training with little or no out of pocket money

    Have you considered Central refrigerated?

I copied this off their web site

Applicants attend a two to three- week course. Central Refrigerated requires no money down for CDL training and will finance students based on their qualifications for the truck driving training program. The only out of pocket training expenses are licensing fees and cost of living expenses less the housing. Central Refrigerated covers costs such as travel, housing during trucking school and orientation, DOT physical, drug testing and wellness testing.

Thanks for the suggestion about Prime Buno. I'm in the Seattle area so MO is a bit less convenient.

semiret, Central Refrigerated looks like a good outfit. I've opened up talks with them. thank you very much!

I spoke to a Prime driver recently and he said their school was free, you just have to commit to drive for them for a year. Prime also gives you the opportunity to step up and be a business owner. Personally, I started my driving career with Central Refrigerated back when they were Dick Simon. You spend a month on the road with an owner operator, not a so called trainer company driver. Very good training, and it is pass or fail type training.

Beware that CRE will force you to do a lease purchase unless you want to team. And you won't make any money with a lease purchase.

I was a Phase 2 and later a Phase 1 trainer at CR England. If you end up going to CRE I suggest getting through all of their training and then jumping ship to Schneider or just about any other company that will take new graduates. CR England is nothing but a group of crooks masquerading as a legitimate carrier.

You can read my report on CR England here.

That statement isn't true. CRE cannot force a person to sign a lease (for the record, it is not a "lease purchase," it is a straight lease). What CR England used to do is give the appearance that there are no company trucks available for several weeks and then tell the new graduate, "If you want to drive out of here this week, you can always lease." CR England is currently making their lease program more difficult to get into instead of suckering every Tom, Dick, Joe and Harry into it. This is, in my opinion, due to a class action lawsuit against them.

You can also drive company solo at CR England despite your statement.

My question to you racerdad; why did you initially pick CRE as your first choice to gain CDL training?
