Since I haven't worked for them since 2012, the checks can't be limited to current employees. Time will tell, I guess.

LOL ... Just got a settlement letter from the class action suit ... works out to about $7.50 for every week you worked at CRE ... Also it is only for company employees based in California - has to do with the California labor law vis-a-vis lunch breaks.

Since my very small check didn't have any type of settlement letter/wording with it, I'll just try to contact the law firm handling this case and see what they have to say BEFORE cashing the check. Maybe CRE has learned a lesson from all of their past wrongdoings... if not, they're bound to get hit with more lawsuits.

We got the check and are part of the lawsuit so perhaps it's related as you said.

Not sure. We left England in January. We thought it was for Orientation since they didn't pay anyone and part of the lawsuit. We went ahead and put it in the bank. We should get a notification from the lawsuit once that's settled.

FYI- I spoke with someone briefly the other day at the law firm covering this Class Action suit, and he told me to NOT cash the check but to wait for one of their attorney's to look into it and call me back... I'm still waiting for that callback.

exactly. Cashing the check makes you agree to something. Does the check just come in an envelope with no reason? Looks like a regular pay stub?

The one I received looks like a regular check and it has no form of a release from liability printed on it or the stub... however, cashing it may indeed waive something down the road, so I'm willing to just wait until I can verify this with the law firm.
