Look, C.R. England gets a bad wrap on here and by a lot of drivers because they try and force you into a lease purchase program where you will loose your shirt.
In the 8 months I have been driving I have observed England drivers to be good drivers. Don't make a lot of boneheaded mistakes. They appear to be a good training company.
As far as them telling you you can go local seems plausible. They have local runs. Just make sure they put it in writing before you go to orientation.

Seems you know the drill, lol. No openings at the present time, check back in a couple yrs.Meanwhile no company trks then all of a sudden once u sign the lease agreement we found u a trk,gee imagine that. This industry is full of lies and broken promises.Wish drivers would treat companies the way they treat the drivers and see how they like it.

You really think they'll put in you writing.Their word is law as far as they're concerned.

I do. If they don't don't go there. That simple. Been with two companies and both times if recruiter promised something had them put in writing and they did.

That's good.I do agree, have it put in writing but I know a lot of companies likes to dance around things you requested.

You poor lost soul. I wouldn't drive for England if they were the last carrier willing to give me a job.

I have a sneaking suspicion they are going to try and talk you into their infamous lease program when you are done your 3 months training. Please please please take the time to research here and see what other truck drivers have to say about CRE and their lease program. There is one (of many) examples here I still remember when one driver had enough of their lease program, turned in his truck as instructed and his final payment was minus $1,200! In other words, he owed CRE $1,200! He balked, and CRE took him to court and won! They had his wages attached until CRE was paid in full! Image explaining that to your next employer!
You owe it to yourself, tread carefully and research CRE as thoroughly as possible.
Good luck!waveform Thanks this.
