It would be a better occupation if we could work shorter hours and be home more.
My plan is to buy a truck in about a year and after paying it off, work part time - about 6 or 7 months a year, probably for Land Star.
There are also the local jobs. But they typically demand such long hours that it's not much of an improvement over OTR.
Yeah, a semi-retired owner-op in 5 years: that's my goal.
Are there CR England success stories?

In my opinion, there are probably PLENTY of C.R. England success stories, but you're not going to find them here on this TTR website.
First and foremost, satisfied and successful people aren't typically ones to waste their time to write of their satisfaction, due to the fact that they're too busy being satisfied and successful.
Satisfied and successful people do, be and have what they are and typically don't boast upon their own success and satisfaction.
If they're not satisfied; successful people are ones to communicate directly to the source of cause in order that they do become satisfied and remain successful.Rick Brown and dogtrucker Thank this. -

The Grandmas' Debi and (Saint) Virgil stories are classics. Not so much educational, but certainly entertaining. If the stories are true, it would seem to indicate that to be "successful" at C.R. England it helps to be an air-head teamed with someone with the patience of Mother Theresa.
I've been askin' the same question that the OP asked, --- for 8+ years now, and have yet to read a believable example. But I still hold out hope that someday, someone will convince others, and myself, that they're an actual success story.

There are none. CRE sucks and there's enough evidence of that all over TTR.

They may suck but you have to admit, they got a cool logo
