I'm in orientation at another company, (thank God,) and the bloke next to me in class just got booted for having a DUI that was 4 1/2 years old. He wants to go to England as a fall back, is older than dirt, and has no internet and is wondering if they'll hire him. I feel bad for the poor soul and am advising him to do ANYTHING before going to England, but he's in a tight spot financially.

So, will England hire him with a 4 1/2 year old DUI on his MVR?

England hires just about anyone so yes he has a good shot of getting hired. Its best to call them first to make sure.Did this guy put on his app that he had a 4 yr old DUI?Is this company paying for his way back home? Before trying England tell him to apply to other companies first.

I told him to try EVERYONE first lol. But I guess he didn't put the 4 year old one on his application so he's perma ban hammered from this company.

Ooops, silly boy. Must be upfront about the old record.

One honest phonecall to the old CRE meatgrinder should answer his query.

Wait - does he have a phone?

Companies look up all the stuff during orientation,I don't know why they don't do the same before hes prehired. It would save on a lot of unnecessary time and money.

On the flip side, they wish people would disclose all relevant information before potentially wasting their time.

He just needs to get on the phone and start calling recruiters. There's companies that will hire him. In 6 months most of the companies that hire newbies will hire him. Prime will hire him right now for example.

I think it's comical when your in Orientation at a prospective company and it goes from say 40 drivers to less than half within like 2 days... LOL The funniest are the idiots who know they can't pass the pee test but still show up? HUH? What are you thinking? Geez no wonder why OTR drivers are paid SO little :sign3::sign3:
