How about finding a new company. Seriously. That first video should give you a good indicator to run for ze hillz. That was the instructor in that truck.

Darn, I was hoping you wouldn't say that... I went through orientation at Burns Harbor, and they had us staying at a motel infested with bed bugs. Needless to say, they almost ate me alive and it sucked really bad, so make sure you take a VERY close look at the mattress before unloading your gear in the room. If you don't know what bed bugs look like, or how to find them, just Google it and you'll find the info. Good luck and make sure you don't let all of the CRE BS get to you... just use them as a stepping stone to a better job down the road... and beware of their nasty lease program they tend to push hard on drivers. They play a lot of games with their drivers, as I took their BS for 10 months as a company driver and then had a much better opportunity arise so I resigned and turned in my truck.
    Again, good luck!

BTW, their backing lot in Burns Harbor is huge and you should get lots of practice time out there. Make sure you learn and practice how to chain-up... because you'll likely be headed out over the Rockies this winter and it sucks to learn how to use chains when you're stuck on a mountain pass in a blizzard. There are some great videos to learn how to put the chains on, but practice will be time well spent when you hit that first snow/ice situation out west.

If you have țo use chains. It probably be better Off spending a night at the next safehaven. Us rookies cant even drive straight on flat road and you here talking about chains, snow, mountains. Better off try to avoid i70 in co

I disagree. Learn to chain. It's a valuable tool. Even just to get yourself out of a situation where you're stuck.

I just got my the other day so will be headed there after xmas. I will not consider leasing at all. Want to learn the ropes before I even consider it. I used to work doing pest control so I can detect a bed bug. Thanks for the info.

Absolutely! I don't know one driver that would want to run on chains if s/he doesn't have to, BUT knowing how & when to use them could very well save-your-life at some point... because you WILL run into some very nasty snow/ice conditions if your running out in the Rockies. Good luck and Be Safe!!!
