I've heard from several sources that CR England will have one instructor and three students on a truck for the over the road part of their training. Is this true? If is is true how in the name of all that is good do you handle sleeping arrangements?

burns harbor means that you will stay in their run down hotel they own in Hammond. Stay away from the food machine on third floor. IT WILL make you sick. Made me sick to. For the beginner it is easy stuff. Straight, offset, to the right. Eventually you have to do a shipper parking where you start by some empty trailers and stuff it between others. Remember to GOAL, they will fail you if you dont. The trailer when properly parked mut be centered to the rubber bumpers on the dock and parallel to the line on the ground.
When driving with some one testing you. Pull away from a street light and dont try to grab anymore gears until after the trailer has cleared the intersection (doing it in the intersection is considered aggressive driving). When they do the freeway test, stay 5 mph under the limit, they will take you over a small rise where you must remain in the gear you selected. The small rise will make you gain speed, if you are 5 under you will be at speed. Their mantra says "You are the stone in the river". Meaning dont go the speed of the traffic, go slightly slower. Traffic flows around you and you have time to react to others. Open up a big space between you and the next. Learn to be able to talk to the guy next to you. Being unable to talk they iterpret as beeing too tense for the drive.
Drive safe, drive life.
Good luck. If you are married and she can come with you, do so. They prefer married couples in their trucks, even if she doesnt drive. -
