but all I have done on this site is tell my story about going into into trucking.
read all of my posts. i started posting when i started school, then orientation, then when we went out with a trainer, and our second part of training (q-fleet which was not so good) and after we got our own truck. then i posted about starting to train new students.

but correct me if I'm wrong but i have not done any recruiting on here. have I? because in order for me to get credit for recruiting someone they have to tell me their full name and birth city.

all i do is answer questions. of what to expect in orientation, training....

hey carrot top, i am starting my training in SLC on the 19th of July, are they still doing the team or will i be able to go solo after my training? and if i have to team, how long until i will be able to go solo?

the only way to go solo at Cr England is to lease a truck. and i am in no way telling you to do that unless you don't have that many bills and you don't mind lower pay. but if your on top of things and run hard and the trips fall in line like there supposed to then it's OK. but in my opinion if your going to lease a truck then the truck should work for you...keep the wheels rolling at all costs.

there is that other option ...and that's to run a truck for an owner operator.

I just want to say that this man knows what he is talking about. He has been a wonderful influence in my life and has shown me more ways to get ahead when it comes to business. He is honest and a generally good person. Any time I have needed help or advice with the England program he has helped me.

I am just going to have to deal with this BS since they are the only ones willing to bring me into orientation right now. Not a chance in hell would I lease from them. I hope they still have company positions available for team drivers because one thing is for sure, I'm not getting involved in their lease program. If they want to give me the boot for that, so be it.

What if I don't have a problem working as a team? Will they still accept me in a company driver position or will they give me the boot? By the way, I am not going to lease.

I'm curious. How has it been going for you at CR England? You seem like a success story and you give me hope for the decision I am about to make...going to work for CR England. If you have any helpful & encouraging advice, by all means, I'm all ears. I just need to get my feet wet. If I can only endure for 6 months without getting into their lease program, then maybe I'll stand a chance in this trucking industry. My goal is to pay my dues for 1 whole year in order to open doors later on for a prosperous trucking career.

well there is always options it just depends how well you do in school and training. just do yourself a favor and keep an open mind. cas if you go in saying your not going to do something, you close the door on your self.

some people come out the gate running and some stand there looking at it saying I'm not going threw that...what if i fall flat on my face or that looks way to hard for me. give yourself a chance.

pay attention to both trainers. cas weather you lease or not it's going to be irreplaceable information. you will learn to run the truck as a business. and that will make you more valuable to future employers.

I came to Cr England with my brother and went to burns harbor,IN for orientation. we were dead set against leasing. but after we got on the truck with our trainer, we started thinking about it. the trainer we had was a 14 yr driver. and he told us to keep an open mind to the lease program till after our second part of training. when we went thou training it was 21 days and 15000 miles for the first part and 30 days for the second part. now it is 30 days and 15000 miles for the first part and 60 days for the second part unless u were hired with a team partner that Ur trained with and u both go into the second part together (ie. couples, brothers,sisters,friends) that are going to team togather when they finish the second part. then it's still 30 days. well after my brother and I saw that we could be verry effisient at picking up loads and delivering loads on time and not haveing any service issues inbetween....thats when we decided to lease. we had great miles 5500 to 6000 a week and never had a service failer due to driver error. we eaven saved loads from other teams. so after we were rolling for about 7 months I decided that we needed our own trucks to make more money. so we both went thru the train the trainer course. and started training. my lease ended in march. and I'm on vacation for 2-2 and half weeks. when I go back in april I'll be getting my new truck. I cant say I made a boat load of money but I can say for my first year and 3 months I did better than I expected. I read a lot of negitive experiences from others. but I can truly say I have had nothing but a great experience at cr england. I like to think that I don't push the lease program to my studants. in fact I don't eaven mention it till they bring it up. and what I tell them is that it's not for everyone, and that at the end of training they will have to make that decision for them selves. and all that i ask is that they keep an open mind till they do. I show them my settlements, and go over every detail with them. most of the studants are suprised that you have a tax fund to pay your quarterly taxes and u can put away for ur own truck and u eaven have a down time fund. for that unexpected head acke. they also have a book keeping service to keep track of all ur busness expences. o and btw thoes funds are still your money. u have access to the money any time u want thru the qualicomm. I like to build a repore with my studants. I let them know that they can call me if they need help or advise on something.

Not so fast, I had approx 2000 in tax fund, 945 in down time fund. When I turned my truck in at end of lease. I had 10,000 in maintanince fiund had just put new rubber all way around 4 months earlier and the truck when I got it had 13 /32 on all tires no damage truck was detailed inside prior to turn in no stains,cracks cuts,dent,ect. back to my point. I lost 12,945 on turn in because I refuesed to lease again. I also got a abandoment that I had to get a Lawyer from OOIDA (Don't mention them at CR they just won a HUGE lawsuit for false lease repersentation against CR) to get it cleared up. He is now reviewing supposed repairs(All done in house ofcourse) CR claims to have done to my truck. BTW that truck was back on road 3 days after I turned it in. So again BEWARE!

what i was referring to is the tax fund and downtime fund is your money. while your leasing your truck. if you bothered to read your contract you would know they put a hold on all accounts and your last settlement takes 45 days to cycle. so if your turning in your truck you need to clean out your tax and down time before you turn in your fuel card.

but it sounds to me like you did not turn your truck in to slc or burns so that's why you got abandonment.

also did you get or ask for an turn in list of repairs ?
and go over it line by line ?

cas it really sounds like to me from what you said.....you walked away from the truck and hoped for the best...not treating it like a business.

i hate to ask ......but how did that work out for you ?
