It's not a lie at all, I worked for CCC and was home every weekend, they are a Florida based company and have contracts with Budweiser which has a brewery in Jacksonville, they deadhead a lot of MT trailers back to the brewery, or bring back kegs or pallets whatever they might need. Get some facts BIGARMIN b4 you go telling this guy what you think you know, CCC is a good company, not great but you will work your 5, maybe 6 days, make decent money and be home on the weekends. As far as the OP, like I said I can help you out with some more questions if you have them, of course things have changed at CCC due to the economy, but you're not going to spend 10 days on the road, don't worry about that.

Thans Trashtrucker1265 and Bigarmin88 .I appreciate taking time to address my concerns.
The recruiter told me that I will be going to Aubundale for my orientation so what Trashtrucker said sounds accurate, I live in Palm Coast, which is about 1 hr south of Jax, and about 1 1/1 hr from Audundale, so no problems with that.
Trashtrucker, thank you for all the great info on CCC, it is good to hear from some one who has actually being there.I like to be home every weekend ( who would't) but I also need to make some money, so saying out a litle more than a week or even 2 weeks at times , dont think will be a problem. I cant think of any good questions right now, I am sure most of them will be answered ar Orientation, but thaks for the offer , I might just take you on it.:biggrin_255: one question I have is that, all I see on I 95 is Bud Light Day-cabs, maybe all oh the OTR goes North of Daytona.
Bigarmin88 thanks for your reply, I realize that recruiters do , what recruiters do, and I take what they say with a grain of salt.
and you are right, cant make money 5 days out, my thinking is , If I start with a promise of 5 days out, I might get 10 days out on occasion, and when i do get 5 or 6 I would be happy, but if I start with 3 weeks out ( which is what was available tome with others), then when they fail to live up to their promise, It will be out a month or more, and that is not an option for me right now.
Any way, thank you all again, please keep the comments coming, they are all appreciated, and I promise to to tell you all about my experience with CCC.

A Day Cab would not be bad, I guess it would mean home at Night?and probably result in less money? But in my situation at this time, I will be willing to make less , for more home time.
As far as updates are concerned, The recruiter at CCC called me with a request for W2 s to verify past employment , which I emailed to her promptly, and mediately I was send an email with an Invitation, and directions, to this weeks Orientation, I will be starting 7 am Monday morning.
I wonder what types of Truck transitions thy run, I Have some experience from school on 9 speed, 10, and a couple of hrs on Super 10, never on auto, hope it is not a problem.

CCC runs automatics so no worries with shifting, those day cabs you see are out of jax running from the brewery, as a road driver you will do deliveries in Florida as well just like them, but I'd say they handle the majority of it, you'll take loads to Ft. Myers and places like that on the west coast of florida that the day cabs can't legally get to in a day, you'll enjoy your time with them and the orientation will probably be small as far as class size goes, and it will be boring. Like I said earlier, there is a guy named Steve who you will probably be dispatched by, not a bad guy by any means but just hold your ground if he tries to make you run out of your comfort level, he'll push you as long as you let him but there comes a time where you have to respectfully hold your ground and let him know that there's only so much you can do. Good luck with everything, sorry for not posting more, but for some reason this thread doesn't ever show up on recent posts.

Thank you Trashtrucker1265, I appreciate you taking the timeout of your busy schedule to reply to me.
It would be nice not have to worry about shifting gears while I get used to negotiating the Trailer, but I guess after a while pulling a trailer will become second nature to me, and I will miss my 9 speed.
you are right about this thread not showing up, the only way I can find it is by going in my name, and looking at statistics .
Any way thank you very much for your advise, I will Post again after Orientation is over.:biggrin_255:

Wonder if the moderators can get it out of the Crete section, probably got stuck there because CCC generally refers to Crete Carrier Corporation, maybe if you re-titled it Commercial Carriers it would go to its own section.

Being new to this forum, I dont know how to re-title, or how to get in touch with the forum administrator, any advise?

Today I came back from Orientation, When Trushtrucker said that orientation will be boring, he was not kidding, 4 days of 7 am to 4 pm of torture. First day we had a physical, very easy to pass, then a driving test, the driving examiner was very nice , he quickly put me at ease, we just drove around for a while in an automatic. backed the truck in a spot, all easy .then went for DOT Physical, even though I had one about 3 months ago and Have a 2 year DOT physical card, they want an other one , Ok no problem.the rest of the time in orientation we watched short videos on particular subjects ( all of which I had seen at school) ant took a multiple choice test.
There were 9 people in orientation, every one passed. The instructor, and every one in class had a good sense of humor so on that respect we had some fun ,but otherwise very boring.
I must say, every one that I have met from CCC so far was very nice.
Oh, theit medical insurance is crap, for me , my wife and daughter it will be about $ 180.00 a week and will have a $ 5,000,00 deductible.:biggrin_2555:
They carry a lot of Beer, a lot of cement. and some other things, most people drive day-cabs but,I was told after training for about 3 weeks I would get a sleeper, work regional and be out 5 days home 2,will be working out of the Jax terminal, but Have not meet with the Jax terminal manager, so I dont know the particulars.
we were not able to get a straight answer from anyone about Pay, it seems they pay 20% of the load, but we dont know what the average load is. we told that in the Aubundale terminal , after 52 weeks the lowest pay was 23,000 the average was 33,000 and the highest was 43,000 per year., they said for other terminals we should talk with the terminal manager. I will know more when i talk with him, and then i have to make a decision if I can afford to work for them.
the big obstacle is the medical insurance, I must look more in to it. does the deductible apply to doctor visits, or only to hospital? I need to ask. and if I only bring home $ 600.00 a week. can I afford to pay 1/3 of it, for bad health insurance?
any way I appreciate all your responses.
I will take this weekend to make a decision.

    jtrnr1951 Thanks this.
