They said that they are turning loads down because they dont have enough drivers. More than half of the drivers at orientation, including me, were students with zero experience, if you still want to work with them, apply again, if you need contact names, send me a message.

CCC had a terminal in Virginia pulling Budweiser out of the Williamsburg brewery. most of the drivers I talked to were happy...usually drop and hook on both ends. They all drove day cabs, so most likely home every night.

Nanman, I don't quite understand why you think you'll be on percentage pay, I know the local drivers are paid percentage, but road drivers were paid mileage when I was there. The concrete they haul that you mentioned is done in bulk trailers, that's mostly local but they do have some stuff they haul out of alabama and bring back down to Mulberry. I can understand the concern about the high cost of insurance, but as a new driver you're going to have a hard time finding a job that offers better hometime, just an idea here but if I were you maybe I'd stick it out a while with CCC then think about moving over to CT "Coastal Transport", they're the flatbed company owned by Comcar, they're based out of Savannah and will offer you better mileage pay plus you'll get the same hometime every weekend, the insurance issues may still arise but atleast you'll be able to make a better gross with them.

    nanman Thanks this.

runingMan Thank you on the info
Trushtrucker, at the orientation I had a hard time getting any specific answers as to compensation, they told as what the average compensation was at the Aubundake terminal, which is where we had the orientation ( the work on 20%), but for other terminals they told as to talk with the terminal managers.I finished orientation on Thursday and I did not want to meet with The terminal manager on Friday, because i wanted to take the weekend to talk to some of my buddy's from the Carpenters union in NY to see what the situation was there, Unfortunately the company I used to work with there, went under, and there are no other projects in the horizon , I was told that an other company i used to work with will have a project in October,
(maybe). even though I am collecting unemployment, I cant wait.
The state of Florida provides affordable health insurance for my Daughter, and I guess i could go with out insurance for a while,
so CCC it is , I will meet with the Terminal manager Monday and we will go from there.
I will post again after my meet.

Well, this probably dont matter now as you posted your question some moons ago. I drive otr for ccc out of Aburndale,FL. I do just fine with them, take home 850+/wk after taxes, insurance, 401k, Ive drove for others, all Ive ever done is otr, I stay out month or more at a time, been out two months this time. Theres good companys abd bad ones, ccc is one of the better ones, you gotta get out there and husle to make money, its always been that way with trks, there is alot of drivers who have been with ccc for 15+ years, whats that tell you? As for me...am happy, I make good money, am free to choose my routes, choose the fuel stops, can refuse a
, equpiments ok, sure there macks, and slow (62mph), I do a reset every wk and still take home 850+/wk. Bottom line, ccc has alot to offer, its up to you to make it work, you can be an adult, get out there, husle and make that money, or can be a snot nose whinner that thinks just show up turn a key, no pre trip, drive few hrs be home every night and get payed big bucks, nothing works that way. So,I know this about ccc, do your job, be an adult, you will make money and they will take care of you. Best luck on your search.
