There are several other companies out there that don't even check your references until your sitting in their orientation. Saw a lot of guys and girls sent home after they had traveled halfway across the country by bus. Be patient, pick up a crap job at a convenience store in the meantime if you really need some ready cash, you know something that you don't mind quitting with short notice.
From everyone I know that works for Crete ... well just about everyone ... they may take a while to get you approved, but like bowlwinkle said, once you are hired yer in (save for the wizzquiz).

Well should be rolling back over the road shortly. Got situated in my new place in Las Vegas. May have to drive all the way into Colorado to pick up a truck, hopefully they can work out something closer. Looking forward to getting back on the road.

Made the long drive from Vegas to pick up the truck in Colorado Springs. Met the former driver (only 17 years with Crete and 5.5 million lifetime miles behind him
Unfortunately he had a minor stroke and is awaiting word from the docs if he will be able to return. Nice guy and wish him well. Truck has about the same mileage as the one I had before so hopefully all the kinks have been worked out and I won't have any problems, also still paper logging it for the win.
Against my better judgment I requested a load offering last night after having driven all day. To make matters worse it didn't p/u until 0200 which only gave me an hour or so to catch a quick nap and head on up to Windsor, CO to p/u a load of Pepsi cans. Got a delivery tomorrow morning in Tulsa. Had to pull over for a couple of hour nap a little before Limon, CO this morning but still managed to make it to Bunker Hill, KS before shutting her down for the afternoon.
Tried to hook my CB up but no dice. Don't know what the problem is, didn't see any thrown breakers.
Pretty darned tired so shouldn't be a problem getting to sleep. Got to get up around 0200. Hopefully be able to get back on day shift soon.

Got my can load off at Pepsi and got a load plan for Kimberly Clark just down the road in Jenks, OK. Unfortunately the load won't be ready until 2230 or so tonight while 6 other loads were ready to go but apparently weren't in the system so they couldn't dispatch me on any of them, doesn't make much sense.
Picked up a few things at a local Wal-Mart including a tv. Getting about 20 channels here but unfortunately about half are Jesus channels so not much on the tube. Bought a Cobra 19 to see if I could get that working but having the same problem as with my other cb. The 2 amp fuses are blowing and nothing is happening at all with the 5 amp ones.
Taking the load to Greenville, IN so should be able to get through Indy to p/u some needed paperwork and perhaps get some help on the cb. After the drive tonight should be able to get back on the day schedule as I deliver on Tuesday morning and should be able to get there by tomorrow afternoon.Last edited by majestyk; 06.03.2012 at 03.29 PM.

I didn't get an antenna I just got the coax wire and hooked it up to the antenna outlet in the bunk area. Works well.
