We're not talking about CPAP in the real world, we're talking about CPAP and SLeep Apnea as an employee of Crete.

I Am looking at attending a CC in Alabama that Crete hires from.I got a physical and all went good until he checked my BMI.The doc gave me a six month card and said after I had a sleep study done he would issue a two year or one year card. Sleep studies are very expensive I know Roehl has their own sleep study program and will help you finance it.Does Crete have a similar program?

I did their "Sleep Study" in New Kingstown last August. Of the 4 that went, only 1 came away needing the machine. (It was not me...even though I am 6' and 265#.) They do the testing at New Kingstown, Wilmer, Lincoln and Salt Lake City. Rumor has it that Salt Lake City has a very high percentage of testees who are found to have apnea, therefore having to buy the machine OR quit. There are some machines that they consider compatible, and do not require a new one to be purchased (but apparently not many). Just my take from what was said when I went thru it...

Will you have to test again when your DOT physical is due...Or if you take the sleep test one time and pass it...will you never have to take it again at Crete??

Since Crete has Blue Cross Blue Shield why aren't they encouraging everyone to go through their insurance to pay for the machine? I don't mind the test if I need it, nor using the machine, but it seems that insurance would cover the cost.

They charge around $750 for the Cpap machine. The new ones have a modem so Crete will be monitoring your sleeping everyday you work for them reguardless if you are on or off duty.

100% true, they think they own you heart and soul when you work there. My 17 yo ran head on into a tree and they offered no gosh I am so sorry we will have to get you home's. Instead they said we will get you home if we can. When my father in law died I received no card, no call and no respect. That place sucks.

Actually, Crete is actually the health insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield is the underwriter for the policy...so Crete does have a stake in where you buy your equipment.

I went through my physical at hire and because I was under 35 BMI and my neckline was less than 17 inches I did not have to go through the sleep lab and I received a one year physical.
