Why only a one year card? 2 years is the norm with no problems.
Dealing with CPAP and Crete has me ready to quit trucking. I would have more respect living in a homeless shelter.
I am using the machine. I understand it does help me sleep better. I do miss a day using it occasionally, some nights I don't get the 4 hours usage they want, but overall I am averaging way over 4 hours.
Once you get on the radar for missing a few days, or falling short a few hours, you will start to get phone calls from various desk jockeys at Crete threatening to 'put you out of service', as well as people from Sleeppointe.
There should be some way to deal with this problem that is independent of your employer, who in this case, forced you into the sleep study, then sold you the #### machine.

Say No To Their Sleep Study. You Have A Choice. Don't Work At This Shady Company.

Crete is not 'shady', they are just very anal and overbearing with interpretation of rules and regulations. It's a business, not your family or a social welfare agency. I'm not defending the way they run the company. It's idiotic. It's just the way it is, and the CPAP is just one aspect of the annoying stuff.

I wasn't aware that 3 years made you a seasoned veteran in this industry. What exactly is the difference between your 3 years & my 1.5 years?
It's because of the 'veterans' not standing up for what's right for the drivers that the new generation of drivers are speaking up.
Instead of defending our industry the veteran drivers are too busy driving on dual logs, not sleeping, driving recklessly to make insane deadlines, etc that we are all subjected to these never-ending regulations. Veterans have made the standard of the industry to work more for the same money.
You guys all know that Crete is pulling these shenanigans with the sleep study but nobody is talking about it to make your fellow drivers aware so that they don't have to have the same fate. You see 40some cpm & are blind to the fact that to earn that money you get strapped with a $1000 debt right off the bat & a machine that will monitor your breathing even when you're at home enjoying the paltry 4 days you've worked hard all month to get.PackRatTDI Thanks this. -

I smell back handed deals.
If the drivers fail the test BEFORE hiring - don't hire them.
What's with hiring them, testing (!?) them, and then selling them a CPAP.
Truck duo is right - walk the other way. And if enough drivers do - they'll drop it. Keep walking in to the bat and they'll keep swinging it.
I used to reccomend Crete for the pay scale - but I'll have to refrain if this is their new standard.TruckDuo, paul_4lp and PackRatTDI Thank this. -
Pretty sure I didn't call Myself a veteran driver.
