Applied at crete last week. Never got a call, got a email 1 week later (today) with an "Fcra" letter. I am 22, almost 23, have 1.5 year(s) experience with an LTL carrier which im still employed and have 1 non-commercial related ticket in 2010. What does this mean? Heres what the letter says. I really love the part where it says "we are unable to provide you with the specific reasons for the decision".

    Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in becoming associated with Crete Carrier Corporation / Shaffer Trucking. After review of your file, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you employment with us at this time.

Be advised that our decision may have been made based in whole or in part on information contained in your DAC report received from HireRight, Inc., your Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) report provided by the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, of the Department of Transportation (“FMCSA-DOT”)/NIC Technologies, LLC (“NICT”), or based on any other criteria Crete Carrier Corporation / Shaffer Trucking considers in making its employment decisions, such as driving record, experience, location and/or education. Please also be advised that neither HireRight, Inc. nor FMCSA-DOT/NICT made the decision to deny you employment, and they are unable to provide you with the specific reasons for the decision.

You may, upon providing proper identification, and within 60 days, request a free copy of your DAC report from HireRight, Inc. and/or a free copy of your PSP Report from the FMCSA-DOT/NICT. You may also dispute with HireRight, Inc. and/or FMCSA-DOT/NICT the accuracy or completeness of any information in the DAC and/or PSP report. You may contact HireRight, Inc. by mail at 4500 S. 129[SUP]th[/SUP] E. Avenue, Suite 200, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74134 or you may call them toll-free at 1-800-381-0645. You may contact the FMCSA-DOT/NICT by mail at1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20590, online at www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov or https://dataqs.fmcsa.dot.gov, or call them toll-free at 1-800-832-5660. You may also make a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the FMCSA-DOT/NICT by mail at 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20590, to request a copy of your record for a fee. Be advised that only the FMCSA-DOT and not NICT is authorized to receive proposed corrections to database information and to determine if the information is correct.

Once again, thank you for your interest in Crete Carrier Corporation / Shaffer Trucking.

Yes get the DAC report, the hireright site will tell you how to do it.... Basically mail copy of license and write requst info.... takes few weeks. In the meantime move on, maybe you are just to young for their insurance, most companies want 23 or older, sometime even 25

Sorry to hear your application got turned down, first of all. But wanted to say that the letter they sent you is a standard letter which is covering them legally. Follow me.....the decision may not have been because of your DAC report, meaning Crete might had another reason, we can only guess......However legally they have to send you a letter like this saying you have the right to get a copy of your HireRight (DAC + Background report) because Crete did pull the report. In other words, its just like when you apply for credit, you are entitled to a free copy of your credit report if the company you applied to declines. See what I mean? We don't know the exact reason why Crete declined your application, but to cover their fanny legally they are required to send you that form letter to notify you of your right to obtain a copy of the HireRight report.

Crete is saying HireRight can't give you the reason, not Crete. It looks like they gave you an idea for the reason and it appears as if it's something in your DAC report or background. What was your non-commercial ticket for? It may be something that's screwing you up. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? Were you truthful in regard to your past experience and education? Did you call Crete to find out what it is? Be respectful when you call and tell them you want to know what the reason is so you can remedy it for future hiring prospects.

Forgot to also point out, get a copy of your PSP report for free too. They mention that also, its separate from HireRight (DAC), so go online to both websites and request them all.

*Exceptions to the one (1) year OTR requirement may be made on an individual basis if the driver applicant has a stable work history. The Company will also accept qualified student drivers who have successfully completed their schooling at an approved school.

I thought it was his age as well. Seems like they do hire 22. I think its the fact he has not had a year driving otr. LTL doesn't count, Still not sure why they wouldn't hire him under the student deal. Also might be his work history. Seems like he has only had 1 driving job so no need to go to DAC

My ticket was a "failure to yeild". Got in an accident in an intersection where a state trooper was directing traffic and hand signals apparently got mixed up resulting in an accident where I got the ticket. I have no criminal record whatsoever. Ive been at this LTL company since I got out of high school (over 4 years) and have been a p & d driver for a year and a half now with no accidents or tickets. There was one commercial accident where a 4 wheeler cut in on my right side during a wide right turn but I was not at fault and he got the ticket. Ill have to check my dac and see whats up. Thanks guys
