Macungie, PA, Ottawa, Il, Tifton, Ga, Spartanburg, SC?
Which is next?
I worked out of one of the closed terminals, hired on there. Wouldn't have gone to work for Crete if they didn't have a local terminal with a shop.
Now I'm forced to get the maintenance on the truck done on my own time, out on the road, and losing probably 1-2 days a month average (unpaid) to do so.
Put up more billboards, buy more radio ads, order some new stickers...Crete. That must make more sense than trying to keep current drivers, happy.
How many terminals have they closed in the last year?

Of course. They don't care they will just recruit more replacements for the ones leaving and at a cheaper wage.

Tell me about it.....I was also out of one of the closed terminals. One of the best shops we had in the country, all they really seem to want now are the highly impersonal "Super Terminals"...where you sit for 2 days before your truck even gets looked at and then when it is they don't even do the work you requested leaving you to get it fixed at a different terminal (thankfully I went to probably the one really decent shop left)...and BTW....I am not getting and the mechanics specifically....they on the whole do a pretty good job,but when you have your workload doubled and don't hire any new people waiting tends to go up considerably....and I don't know if we can still get A and B services done in Petro's and TA's.....(which is hardly good, but better than nothing at all!). I have my own opinions as to why they are dong what they are,but I think I will keep those to myself for now (walls have ears!!).
I am,for the most part, getting miles (although not been to great the last few weeks with various issues) but sometimes that's not everything. I have been wondering if the 'grass is greener' and honestly have come to no firm conclusions yet as to which direction my future lays.
