Just keeps getting better and better.

Sitting in my truck and the A/C isn't working. It's 90 something degrees outside.

I just sat, last week, at a terminal for 2 days to have this #### thing fixed. 2 days later, it's back to crap.
Another thing about Crete is it's horrible for people with CPAP machines because of the battery powered APUs. The CPAP drains power quicker so in the middle of the night it will shut off because the battery is out, then you have to wake up and turn on the truck charge the batt. The bad thing about this for me is, again, my AC doesn't work, so it's blowing hot air, and I have no way at all to get cool.

Again, for the few extra cpm they pay, it's just not worth it to me. Some other drivers may like Crete but my experience at this place has been nothing short of horrible. I said before the miles were there, but even those are drying up due to every other load something goes wrong. Either the wrong info is put into the Load Assignment, and you miss and appt and have to resched for the next day or the shipper puts the wrong rpoduct on your pre-loaded trailer, so then, after you drop the load at 5pm and the Lincoln office is closed, you then have to sit until next morning, report it to OSD and sit for about 3 hours for them to figure out what to do with the freight. What are you paid? Drive it 15 miles to a donation place you say? You will only be paid for those 15 miles. Nevermind the fact that it is now 2pm and you've missed many good loads and will be lucky to get one today at all. Now you either don't drive much today, or drive into the early AM and risk not being able to find a place to park.

What is the consequence for the CSR in Lincoln that screwed up? Nothing. His/Her check will remain the same. I doubt they ever even find out they screwed up.

Since I've been here there have been about 6-7 screw ups like this. I've been here a few months.

Said it before and I will say it again, Crete Carrier is highly overrated. Trucks constantly breaking down, ridiculous wait times at terminals for repairs, and that's if they even fix wth was wrong with it. I'm just so ready to go back to my old company. I'm getting tired of this career altogether. I'm tired of the lies and BS from these companies. I'm tired of busting my ### and yet, when others don't do THEIR job, it always falls on me exclusively. My check is the only one that's shorter because of the screw up.
If you chose to work here, you were warned. Make your decision.

Sounds to me like you're frustrated with an entire company because you're having some technical difficulties in your truck. That could happen anywhere. Same with screw ups. Judging from your post, I'm going to guess that maybe less whining and complaining might get you better loads that are more than a couple hundred miles.

Its true I was hired by Crete out of trucking school. They are very over rated, constant and ongoing screwups that no one wants to take responsibility for.
Constant problems with their equipment and lots of hanging around if going into a terminal for repairs. The maintenance guys are under pressure to get the trucks out as soon as possible so if its not a obvious problem it doesn't get fixed right.
I was with them for 5 months and quit when their AC equipment failed in the western heat wave after I had been through 3 terminals requesting they had a look at it. Could not sleep at night for three days, driving down the road delirious from lack of proper sleep. lack of a decent paycheck. Not worth the aggravation for what they were paying. Lots of silly company policies thought up by people who had never been in a truck. Just lots of aggravation and stupidity not worth the paycheck.
Would never work for this company again.
Essentially they want you to accept all the obligations and responsibilities of a salary employee but they want to pay you as a piece worker.
Never trust any company that touts itself as the best or refers to its Drivers and employees as assets or resources.

    Complete crooks in my book.

Quit recently and they charged me the $150.00 fee for "having to clean the truck".

I have pictures AND video of the truck after I cleaned it. They lied and wrote up some paperwork saying the truck was dirty. Called the terminal and they claim to have pictures of their own, which we all know is a complete lie because we all know trucking companies aren't organized enough to keep files hundreds of files with pictures of dirty trucks.

Told them I will go to court with his (and I will if I have to) if I am not paid my money. Now I'm having to wait because someone needs to contact someone all the way up in corporate to reimburse me for $150. Now this is a driver that drove for them and turned down no loads, worked hard and did my job. I quit because I wasn't getting the miles and their office constantly screws up be it wrong directions, wrong address, wrong appt time, etc. Got tired of the instant consequences for my mistakes while the idiots inside got away scot free. My paycheck was the only one hit, just like op. They could easily fix this clean out situation with a simple Comchek. These people make $150 probably every 90 seconds, but want to put a good employee through the ringer for money that I worked for. It just proves what some told me; that you don't get ahead in this country by playing by the rules.

So word of advice to the many drivers that will quit Crete within the coming months, take plenty of pics and video of the truck after you clean it out. I cleaned mine out on a Saturday night at their terminal and left the truck there as instructed. My last paycheck comes and I'm short $150. Not much. It's really no big deal as trucking for these pig corporations is very much temporary for me as well. It's the principle. They are stealing from me and they know it. I wonder how many others have been through this and whether or not I should push for us to get together for a lawsuit. If anyone here has been through this with Crete speak up. If there's enough of us that may be an option as I do not appreciate being stolen from. I was straight forward with Crete my entire time there.

Which Terminal stole your $150? Yes, stole is the proper description. I am still here but experienced this when I was put in a new truck. I am fighting them on it tooth and nail.

You're in a better spot than me. You still work for them so you should be able to use that to get your money.

Me? They have no incentive to give me my money; other than a lawsuit. I'm sure there are some labor lawyers slobbering at the mouth at the chance to jump on a corp scamming it workers out of their money.

Welp still getting the run around, now it seems they are hiding from me.

I'm still in contact with a good number of Crete drivers, both current and former (we play video games together online and whatnot, fantasy football, etc).

I know several other drivers who say they had the $150 fee taken for no reason after quitting the company so shoot me a message OP about a possible suit. I tried for about 2 weeks now to work with these people but it's like they'd rather steal 150 and pat 10x that in a settlement rather than be honest, part ways with class and move on. I don't take kindly to people stealing my hard earned money.

and to any of you thinking of working for these guys you see what they do to you if you want to leave right? Imagine what it was like actually working for them. I'm not saying there aren't drivers that have good days with Crete but the fact is they lie, cheat and steal as well. They can't keep their trucks running, wait times at the terms are crazy and the front office is constantly screwing up.

Please listen to us and consider another company.

In the meantime I'll be posting in various other forums that I know truckers use, facebook groups, whatever, so dig up any other drivers that have had this problem. Anyone who is reading this and you have had this issue, make sure you've got your pictures, video, paperwork, w/e in line if you want to possibly move forward on this. If not, it's a they said/I said and the courts don't want to hear that mess.

Would it possible for you to post some of the pictures, I am considering them.

Honestly, it would probably cost you that much to take them to small claims court unless you do it for the principle of it all.

I was told the other day that they do have Comchek.

Been here for six years. Leaving at the beginning of the year. The company is getting to big. I see them "selling out" too the highest bidder. Hiring anyone too fill seats. A good company however, not the best company. Had a great time here. Need too move on.
