Crete only uses a hand full of terminals for processing incoming/outgoing trucks. My old truck was sold at 450k. Crete only holds orientation at a handful of terminals. Ideally those would be the terminals with a stockpile of trucks. Lenoir City is Both a Processing Center and Orientation Center. My only concern as a prospective driver would be if that yard was MT. Also a large maintenance facility so some trucks are there for service/repairs.

I didn't. I asked a question . Go back and reread. Lighten up Francis. It's the internet. Truckers are supposed to have thick skin.

Seems to me that it isn't unusual for a company as large as CCC to have a lot of trucks sitting around. With a fleet of 5000+ power units, 500 units sitting is only 10%. Factor in trades, unassigned trucks, trucks being removed from service, repairs etc., that's actually pretty low.

I was there 2 weeks ago. Most are trucks delettered sold or to be sold.

I see plenty of Crete and Schaffer out there.
It is funny going by some of these yards with piles of trucks around. I wish I had so many trucks I wasn't using them all. -
This thread and the internet jockeys make me laugh.

I used to work for Crete. They were by far the best trucking company I ever worked for.
They buy large numbers of trucks in bulk, with CASH (not debt), to get a good price. They are definitely not going out of business.
