I'm probably going with Crete myself. I'm hoping to be hired by July. Crete has a lot of things that I like, pay is only part of my wish list. After talking to a lot of veteran drivers here's what I learned: there is really no such thing as a good company, only a good fit for you. Or put another way, there really are no BAD companies. This is coming from drivers that are successful and who aren't complainers - the ones you should be rubbing elbows with! Outside of those rare cases, you can be successful at any company if you have the work ethic and a positive attitude. Think about what things are important to you about a company, make a list, and then see if certain companies meet your list. Some examples could be cpm, home time policy, terminal locations, tuition reimbursement, type of freight, whether regional and/or dedicated accounts are available, etc... For me, Crete meets my little list, and I'm looking forward to working for them.

My husband is a trainer for Crete and makes good money. He rarely brings home under $1000 a week. His checks depend on the amount of experience his student has. Before he was a trainer he'd bring home between 7-800 a week. That was after the taxman took his share along with child support. We are very happy with them. Plus he has an awesome asset manager.
