They have a lot of rules, I tried to download the newest rule book, and I couldn't , because I don't have 17 terabytes of free space on my hard drive :)

Well, thanks for the attempted download ;) I'm hoping to hear from more Crete drivers that can give me some solid info on inverters, what they do as a work-around, etc...

Thanks for the confirmation buddy. After much research myself, I settled on Crete / Shaffer for a few reasons. I'm actually looking forward to a longer training period, just expecting the worst and hoping for the best in regard to what kind of individual I get matched up w/ ;)

That's interesting you mentioned $600, you sure about that? Last I checked it was $500 a week. I know Prime does $600 a week for training.

I thought briefly about rolling w/ Shaffer for that extra penny or so, just not sure it's worth it.

You can purchase a 250 inverter from Walmart that plugs into the cigarette lighter that's plenty wattage for your laptop and phone, the 400 one also plugs into the cigarette lighter. For a fridge you'll have to use a cooler for your coffee I think truckstops sell coffee pots that plugs into your lighter.

For your laptop, get a Cobra 400 watt inverter that plugs in a cigarette lighter. If you get a smaller one, it'll get hot and it's fan will kick on and drain the batteries faster.
Most of the 12 volt coolers suck.
The next time I'm in Georgetown, KY. I'm gonna stop at Truckfridge and get a real 12 volt refridgerator.

I'm pretty sure my 1500 Watt cobra invertor came with a 12 volt plug. How's it work if you just plug it in that way not wired to the batteries?
