No inverters in Crete trucks?

Have you considered any companies that have APU's?
Does Crete allow you to idle the truck when on downtime; layovers, 34 hr. restart, etc.
Many states and counties have strict idling laws, as do most trucking companies.
With an APU you don't have to worry about any of that; always have electricity for computer, TV, coffee pot, refrigerator,etc.

 

You can get a 200 watt inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter to charge phone computer

 

I think that's just the basic; as it says "heating & cooling."
I'm not knocking Crete, haven't worked there and it may be a great company. But, this day and age with the strict idling laws, I would consider companies with something such as Tri-Pac APU's or something similar. I've seen guys in truckstops doing layovers with good APU's and they're kicked back in comfort watching a big flat screen TV or on computer, etc. and other drivers sitting there with the windows down it's so hot.

At least, that's something you can ask Crete about or maybe a Crete driver will post something for you.

 

I dont work at crete but i see alot out here on the road and the APU they have are not really APU's they just use batteries to heat and cool the truck. They do not have electric outputs. when i worked at swift they too did not allow inverters due to people not hooking them up correctly and causing fires but the simple answer is get one that plugs into the lighter and when you take the truck in to the shop put it in your bag so they dont see it. Unplug when you are not in the truck.

 

I've been here about a month.
You can have an inverter, up to 400 watts that plugs into a cig outlet.
It's enough to change your laptop, plus more.
I do it myself.

Trucks are luck of the draw.
I've seen midroof frightshakers stripped down and with "optimized idle" and prostars double bunk loaded with every option with a battery pack.
Most have the battery pack that charges while you're running and powers your AC when you shutdown.

 

I can tell you if you run crete/shaffer you will start off at 34-35CPM and after one year go to 43-44CPM.
If you get four months experience somewhere else they'll hire you and start you out at 42-43CPM right off the bat, however they'll stick you with a trainer for a month at $600 a week before they release you.
I had less than a year experience when I came here and I got started 43CPM.

After tons of research it's the best I could have done.
I was over getting paid under 30CPM where I was last at.

 

They also say no cell phone even with bluetooth, I see drivers on them all the time even when they're rolling into the terminal lol.
