I recently applied to Crete. I drove a truck from 94-02. From 02 to 2013 I was lost in the wilderness. I was getting a bad divorce at the time. My ex-wife had an affair and ran off with who I thought was my best friend and who also owned the trucking I was working for so I hated trucking for a while. My work history wasnt the best during that time period. Does anyone know how much weight Crete puts into your work history?

I have been back on the road now for a year with the same company. I am wanting to join Crete because of their benefits and the great rider policy they have. I am trying to get on the midwest regional fleet. It pays 160/day and only 3 days out.

If anyone has any info i am all ears

All major trucking companies put weight on your recent work history. I hope you were not too lost out there in the wilderness that you can't show where you were or what you may have been doing. They are trying to make sure you were not in some Turkish prison or a terrorist training camp....yea, Homeland Security stuff.
It sounds like your story would make for a great movie on LMN. Good luck and welcome to TTR

Part of the reason for being to establish where you were, and where you were working, is to avoid something that used to happen pretty often, years ago, when it was easy to have multiple drivers licenses. Drivers would have some problems in one state, pull out a second license from a different state, and work on that license. We're talking getting fired, tickets, wrecks, drug alcohol problems, etc.
I'm not sure it's as easy, now?
Crete will make you document where you have worked for the last ten years, or not worked.

Most companies will do this, they have to under the DOT regulations, but the difference is how they apply it in practice. It varies company to company, and you can find some won't put much effort into verifying what you tell them. They just won't hire you. You don't easily drop into the slots.

From my experience, they don't care at all about your work history only your driving history.
Don't hide or lie anything from them about your driving history, if you got a parking ticket they'll ask you what city was in it even though they already know.

its not just driving. If you have gaps in the last ten years of work history, it matters. You will have to prove you were unemployed, or not working for whatever reason, or where you worked if not driving.

This is my experience from working in this industry for over 30 years.
