I've yet to drive 700 miles in a day, but in a fast truck I guess it is a walk in the park.

And my point exactly... "On a rare occasion" So lets take your rare occasion and the million other trucks that there rare occasion was today.... it gets annoying when you guys hold traffic up especially in a 75-80mph zone... Didn't your guys company tell you in your orientation not to run up against the governor so when you need to pass you can without holding traffic up? Instead of that truck that your trying to pass slow down so you can pass him why cant you slow down a couple mph and stay behind him? Its not like your really going anywhere FAST are you?

I've yet to drive 700 miles in a day either.. probably because in a 62 MPH truck the most you do is 680

But, your most likely tailgating for a while. Very unsafe.

What really irks me is on Places like US 54 2 lane from Pratt, KS to Tucumcari, NM. Swift, Prime, England, Stevens, etc want to run 58-60 mph all day long. The few oppurtunities that I have to pass, then they suddenly work up the courage to push their truck to the governer. Forcing me to either back off and be screwed for another 10+ miles, or look like the 75 MPH maniac in a hurry. In TX the limit on that stretch is 75.

Whatever happened to he slower trucks moving onto the shoulder where its wide enough to let the faster ones go? Not to long ago I used to see it all the time.

so this is why my 62 mph truck is passing all the trucks governed at 65, because they only drive 60.

I hear ya... It's almost as comical as annoying when the lane on 54 goes from 1 to 2 and those drivers you mentioned wont move over to the right... I guess I am a maniac also because I sure will not sit behind them for the whole ride, especially in Texas... In Texas the majority of the time it is 1 lane in each direction but plenty of room for a driver to ride half on the shoulder and half in the actual lane in order to let someone pass... I ride the speed limit plus, but if a bull hauler ( normally ) comes up behind me wanting to pass I will do this to let him go... Last year I had the unfortunate time of driving on 54 from Wichita to Tucumcari when it had snowed and talk about an absolute disaster... It wasn't just big trucks but it was 4 wheelers as well doing 10mph with an inch of snow on the ground... I just don't understand a big truck or 4wheeler doing 10mph... If I'm that worried about the road conditions, you can find me at the closest motel or truck stop with a cold beer in my hand... It's just as comical as these big trucks who drive with there flashers on after it has snowed... Why drive 10-15mph in snow with flashers on instead of staying parked? I never will understand it... Flashers on means something is up, it doesn't mean the road has snow on it and you are driving slow... The competent drivers are well aware of the snow, what we don't understand is why you are out on the road... Its getting ready to be winter time, if you plan on driving 15mph with your flashers on and you get paid by the mile please stay at the truck stop... I get paid by the mile so I am no different but I can assure you If I make the decision to role in snowy weather I'm fixing to move I aint gonna play hokey pokey... Get the hell out my way... Gotta go...
