I've noticed all the trucks now seem to run 62 MPH. I can't pass them, they can't pass me. When did this happen? They used to run 64/65. Another carrier going south...
Crete slowing from 65 to 62?

Not sure about the speed limits on their trucks
but I had a fellow today tell me he's bailing on CCC due
to cameras going into some of the trucks.
Not sure if it was all of them , but he was getting one.
Crete just seems like a company that lives in fear.
Doesnt sound like a pleasant place to be employed.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
They've run 62 long as I've been driving. Actually it seems more like 62.5. Used to hate to run up behind them in the 63 mph truck I used to drive. Had to just get in line and wait until I had plenty of clear road or a long enough hill to close the following distance and then pass them. Took forever and almost NONE of them will back out a click or 2 to let you get on around. Other than the rare exception most of them will hang you out there in a second if you misjudge and then can't get around them or are courteous enough to move over and let one in getting on the big road
Not anymore now that I'm in a 65mph truck. Go right around them now.Last edited: Oct 11, 2014

Crete loves to diagnose their drivers with Sleep Apnea then charge the driver $900 for the machine.
Chinatown, stabob and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Yes CCC has always been one of the few I could get past. Seems like Swift has picked up a couple notches though, have they added a couple mph to their fleet or am I slowing down!
I will always back off for a driver who has attempted to pass and gets stuck out in the hammer lane. It costs me only seconds to do that, and you're right, flyingmusician, not all divers are as courteous or attentive. For the sake of safety if for no other reason.truckon, blairandgretchen and flyingmusician Thank this. -
Yeah I'll let them back in too if they're having trouble getting there and traffic is coming but if they've got clear road behind them I'll let them get there on their own. I'll usually just fall in line if I get in behind one I'm gaining slowly on until I can get a good run to get around them without blocking anyone but too many won't. It was one thing my trainer harped on and I did with my students as well be mindful what's in the mirror and don't jump out there if you can't clear without backing up traffic but it's obvious very few are teaching it.

Yeah Crete sucks, I'd never work there

There must be a few trucks out there that run faster than 62, I'm not talking 62.5, I'm talking 64/65.
-
Crete has been 62 for a while before I got there, it sucks but you get use to it.
Me and Prime are buddies.... until Prime goes 60 and then back to 62 when I try and pass them... then back to 60 when I give up.
Nothing pisses me off more than that.RookieJ1987, truckon, tsavory and 2 others Thank this.
